Capítulo 25

:The last downfall

Georgina then putted the last plate she washed on the cabinet, before she wiped her hand with the handkerchief being hanged in the wall.

It’s been a week now since she was dismissed from the hospital and also it’s been a week since she last saw Charles. Seeing him leave that day with his painful tears pouring on his cheeks after she was been scolded again was enough to make her heart ache really hard.

She knew how much he’s  taking this, she knew how much he’s sacrificing this so it really pained her a lot. He had nothing else to have but only her and his best friends now, yet they’re still having their lives, and her, she was now banned to see him nor be with him until then.

After she washed all the dishes ay agad na siyang lumabas sa likod ng kanilang bahay at doon, inisa-isang kinuha ang kanilang mga sinampay, since the day she’s back here at their house, she was told by her mother to stay here until Charles will give up on her someday.

Masakit para sa kaniya na gawin ito, not seeing Charles was beyond a grief for her, pero nanay niya ang nag-utos, she don’t want to disobey her so she just followed her own mother even if its so hard for her.

She let out a deep sigh and as she was getting their laundry ay hindi niya kayang, mapaiyak na lamang dahil sa sitwasyon na tinatamasa niya ngayon lalo na sa kaniyang pamilya.

She didn’t want this, and it will never be, but this was the result of their sacred relationship. She just let her own self let out some heavy tears. This was indeed never easy for her and for Charles, dahil kahit ano pa ang gagawin nila ay patuloy parin silang matatalo, yes they did promise to fight this together but how can they fight if they’re now getting weak?

She successfully tried her best to stop and just took a deep breath before calming herself. “Kaya moto Georgina, konting tiis lang muna, at lalaban tayo.” She spoke to herself so that she'll stay strong.

Night came, her parents came home and so as her little sister. They’re now at the table, preparing  to eat their dinner. After they prayed, they started eating but Georgina was just sitting and waiting for her words to come out.

She wanted to talk to her mother because she wanted to see Charles and  talk to him again, but nervousness and fear invaded her whole body so that’s why she can’t even move at her chair. Her father looked at her and got her attention by slowly kicking her feet below the table, “Kumain kana nak.” Her father smiled brightly so she replied him a smile also, and  gave him a nod.

Her gaze went to her mother, she was just peacefully eating and the ambience was so silent, it gave her a much more nervousness. She took a deep breath and tried to call her mother, “Ma,” she uttered with a nervous tone but it’s enough for her mother to look at her, waiting for what she will say next.

“Yes? What is it?” Georgina was crumpling both of her hands below the table, and looked down at her food. Seconds have passed and Georgina were going to say those words, “Ma…alam kong galit ka sakin ngayon at sa kay Charles pero….gusto ko siyang makausap, gusto kong mag-usap kami.” She was relieved to say those after but then her heart race when she heard her mother’s utensils dropped and clanked at her own plate.

“Ang tigas talaga ng ulo mo Georgina! Nababaliw kana ba? Sinabi ko na sayo na hindi ko na gustong mahirapan at masaktan kayo! Ayoko na Georgina, tama na!” biglang galit na sigaw ng kaniyang ina, napapikit na lamang ito at  padabog na umalis sa hapagkainan.

Georgina was left crying again so her sister Sofia tried to console her  but  her father suddenly held her hand. “I understand what you feel Gina, pero ang mama mo ay natatakot parin, kaya intindihin mo muna siya, wag kang mag-alala susuportahan kita dahil alam kong gaano mo kamahal si Charles at kung gaano mo kagusto na matapos to, tiwala lang nak.” He then kissed her daughter on the forehead at agad na pinuntahan ang kaniyang asawa.
