You wake up with a massive headache, lying on a cold, metal floor. Cautiously glancing around, you realize you're in a cage like the C-Lings, just in an abandoned hall. Immediately you panic, the cell feeling too small, too familiar. You fly to your feet, trying to convince yourself you're not on the Sontaran ship, you're not trapped in the seaweed.
"Y/n!" A soft voice says. You blink a few times, seeing Izzy looking up at you from the corner. She seems unfazed, her legs out in front of her while she mindlessly taps on the floor.
"Yeah, okay." You nod. "How long have you been awake?"
She shrugs. "Feels like a while."
"Where's Missy?"
Again, she shrugs. "Gone when I woke up."
"Have you seen anyone?"
"No, I know as much as you do." She exclaims.
Of course, you're both in this together.
"Do you have a bobby pin?" Izzy asks, her face lighting up with a plan.
You pull one out from your pant pockets, using it to keep the stubborn hairs in place before you took your bun out. Tossing it to her, she kneels in front of the lock, it immediately clicks.
"How do you know..."
"I've gotten good at it." She shortly answers, putting it in her sweatshirt pocket and slowly opening the door.
You both cringe as it very loudly creaks open, but no one comes running. It really is just an abandoned hallway.
"Left or right?"
"Left." You suppose, remembering what Missy said about the whole ship being a giant sphere.
The two of you very quickly walk, nearly running what feels like a good five minutes until you come across another large metal door.
"Crap." You mumble, going up to the keypad.
"Missy just destroyed in and turned the handle." Izzy recalls.
But she had a laser umbrella. Supposing it's worth a shot, you take your shoe, which is just a regular flat, and stab it. Literally nothing happens. You sigh, leaning against the wall. Your head really hurts, which isn't helping. And you feel completely exhausted from whatever was in those... darts? Tranquilizers? You don't really know.
"Vent." Izzy gasps, going up to the wall. A decent sized grill vent is held down by four screws, most likely used to move air around the ship.
"Where are we going to go?" You ask.
"Main control room, you know, see if we can open the cages and doors?" She answers, pulling out the bobby pin and trying to unscrew it.
"How do you know where that is?"
"Probably in the center of the ship." She shrugs, sighing as it doesn't fit in the screws. She turns it backwards, but that doesn't seem to work either.
Catching you by surprise, she pulls a knife out of her pocket, sticking her tongue out slightly as the screws start to turn.
"The hell do you carry a knife for?" You exclaim, suddenly feeling quite awake.
"Um... emergencies?" She winces, putting the first screw in her pocket. You give her a look, silently demanding a better explanation than that. She sighs. "I know traveling with the Doctor is dangerous, and... I don't know, I just wanted to feel safer."
You can still tell that isn't the full truth, but... It'll have to work for the time being. She pulls out the other two screws, catching the vent just before it falls.
