By the time you're back in front of the hospital, you clearly see it's moved again. From pointing at the lam-post, to the road you just ran down.
Immediately the Doctor takes out her sonic and scans it, appearing even more confused.
"Nothing! It's just reading as a normal statue." She protests, putting it back in her pocket.
"It didn't look like that earlier." Missy notes, stepping a little closer.
Now you feel like your missing something, someone... Jenny.
"Jenny!" You gasp, running over to where she was standing. "Oh no no, no." Covering your mouth in shock, you look to the Doctor. Again, she tries to scan the area Jenny was standing, only to appear even more frustrated.
"It's like she was never here!"
"A rogue statue with no evidence telling us otherwise. It's your worst nightmare." Missy comments with a small smirk.
The Doctor shoots her a 'not helpful look' , turning to a man passing by.
"Excuse me!" He looks up from his phone, a bothered look on his face. "Can you tell us how long that statue's been here?" His face goes from bothered to terrified, immediately running away.
Just then, a man with a rather messy appearance runs up to her. His eyes dart madly between all of you, making you feel quite uncomfortable. He looks to the Doctor, whispering something.
"Run." She turns to all of you. It's not a question.
Surprisingly, Missy takes your hand, making you feel much more safe and grounded than you really are. Nobody looks twice as the four oddly dressed group runs down the street, ending up in the somewhat-alleyway between two larger shops. She drops your hand there.
There's a crazy amount of writing on one wall from a blue marker. People's names, dates, addresses, a lot of things also followed by question marks.
"Mind telling us what that was for?" The Doctor asks, not seeming affected by that much running. You, however, are still catching your breath.
"You're asking too many questions about that statue." He remarks, voice low and slightly scratchy. "All these people, they asked too many questions." He points to the writing on the wall.
"What happened to them?" You look closer, they all appear to be normal people.
"Too many questions." He scolds. "They disappeared."
"So what do you do?" Missy asks, "drag people down this alleyway and tell them to shut up?"
He shakes his head.
"You ask questions, you disappear next." Then his nervous face changes into a small smile, and something about that sends a little shiver down your spine. "Unless we work together."
The three of you exchange looks, obviously none of you completely trust this man who literally took you right off the streets, but... what else could you do?
"Alright." The Doctor nods, though her face shows uncertainty. "We need information, everything we can possibly know about it. Why does it point? Why can't my sonic pick up anything? Does it move, how does it get to its victims?" She lists, pacing up and down the alleyway.
The man nods along, and you're surprised to see no confusion in his eyes. Actually, they look quite blank, no emotion, nothing.
"How do you expect us to do this without getting caught?" Missy asks, raising an eyebrow.
"Still have these." The Doctor sighs, as if recalling a bad memory. She pulls out three string necklaces, each with a string attached. Missy purses her lips, her face shifting to slightly resemble the Doctors.
