Chapter 20: Sunshine (M)

A few weeks later, Yoohyeon became more confident in her identity. She doesn't let anyone trample her, ignores the malicious comments against her and Minji, and just continues to work as professional as she can. Of course, that Choi guys endlessly insults her but she doesn't pay attention to it. Other staff of the hospital didn't pay attention to who she was dating and what her sexuality was, rather the doctor that she is and the patients that she saved. Her relationship with Minji only grew, with a little bit of fights here and there but the love that they pour out for each other after a proper talk makes them love each other more. They took courage in going out such as buying groceries and going on trips. Minji and Yoohyeon used to wear masks to hide their identities but they chose not to and just pass the judging eyes that always look at them.

One day, Minji decided to visit Yoohyeon in the hospital. This will be the first time that Minji will go to the hospital again after the announcement of their relationship. She just wishes that she won't bump into that Choi guy. 

With her, is a packed lunch for Yoohyeon and an invitation on a date at night. Minji wanted to treat Yoohyeon into something better so she reserved a restaurant for the both of them. The doctor always tells Minji that she doesn't have to and she would prefer to eat tteokbokki and drink in the nearby food stall in their house. But, Minji wanted to do this for her. Maybe using her puppy eyes and a little bit of begging would work. 

She entered her car and started to drive to the hospital. Now that she has driven there, she realized that their house and the hospital are really close to each other. She parked and locked the car, making sure that the food in the lunch bag was still intact, she entered the hospital doors again. 

On her way to Yoohyeon's office, a lot of people were staring at her, mumurming questions such as 'what is she doing here' or 'is she here to visit her doctor girlfriend', and compliments such as 'she looks so pretty'. She wore minimal make-up and she was wearing a flowy dress with flower patterns on it. The padded coat that she was wearing was covering it but nonetheless, she still looked ethereal. Yoohyeon took a liking whenever Minji wore something like that. She always says that Minji looks so so SO pretty in those kinds of dresses that she falls all over again for her. So, she decided to surprise Yoohyeon today with all of her favorites, her favorite food, her favorite outfit, and her pretty girlfriend. 

Once she reached the reception desk, everyone had their jaws drop and eyes opened wide. They couldn't believe that the Kim Minji was there and was just casually walking up to them. Thankfully, Nurse Min was there and regained her composure. Minji flashed everyone her bright and deadly smile that almost knocked out all the people in that reception desk. 

"Hello everyone. Hi Nurse Min." The nurse flashed a smile as well to Minji.

"Hello, Ms. Kim. How are you?" Minji put the bags down that she was holding to engage in the conversation more.

"I'm doing well, thank you. Here." She bent down to get a big bag.

"It's food for everyone. I heard how well you treat Yoohyeon so this is the least that I can do. I promise when things are easier for all of you, let's go out for some drinks and I'll treat all of you." They were all shocked at the consideration of the actress. They never expected the elegant and fancy Kim Minji would cook for them just because of her girlfriend. Dr. Kim is a lucky one. All of them thought. Minji saw the hesitation in everyone's eyes. She smiled and said,

"Since I'm not a patient, I'm sure you can take these? I'm doing this as Dr. Kim's girlfriend, so just think that it was from her." They all awed at what Minji said. They were shooting teasing looks at her. Minji got embarrassed that she just called herself as Yoohyeon's girlfriend in front of everyone that Yoohyeon appreciates. Nurse Min cleared her throat and glared at the other staff to stop teasing her.
