Chapter 25: Preparation

“Minji, I’ve never needed someone in my life as much as I need you. Be my light, be my sun, be my wife. Minji, will you marry me?” Minji’s tears were already falling from her face. It was just simple words but it was very meaningful for Minji. Yoohyeon waited for Minji’s answer with expectant eyes. 

“Yooh….. Yes, yes, of course, yes. A hundred times yes! Oh my god, Yooh.” Minji lunged towards Yoohyeon and hugged her. Yoohyeon almost fell but it's okay. The happiness that she feels right now is incomparable than anything in this world. Minji cupped Yoohyeon’s face and just looked at her eyes. It was sincere and soft. There was no hint of doubt and uncertainty that Yoohyeon was regretting this. The younger unraveled Minji’s hands from her neck. Yoohyeon slowly stood up and placed the ring on the left ring finger of Minji. It was simple yet beautiful. Yoohyeon knows that Minji didn’t want something extravagant for things like this so she carefully chose it. Minji, after endlessly looking at the ring since she couldn't believe it, hugged Yoohyeon tightly again. 

“Yooh, I love you so so so much. I can’t believe this.” Yoohyeon hugged her tighter, feeling happier than ever before. 

“Me too! I can’t believe I’m marrying you!” Minji slowly cupped Yoohyeon’s face, tracing it using her thumb from her cheekbones, then grazing her thumb on Yoohyeon’s bottom lip. She kissed Yoohyeon with a thankful feeling. Her safe place, her shield, was in the form of Yoohyeon, who will become her wife soon. Everyone around them cheered loudly and started to throw the confetti that was on the floor. Bora was so overjoyed that she hugged the both of them.

“OH MY GOD!!! MINJI! YOOHYEON! YOU’RE GETTING MARRIED!!” Everyone soon followed. Gahyeon was crying because she’s too happy. 

“Unnie….. You’re getting married…” Yoohyeon hugged Gahyeon separately.

“Thank you for everything, Gahyeon.” Bora didn’t care if her make-up was getting ruined but she was too happy for Minji. Everyone was crying, even the parents of Yubin and Handong were. Yoohyeon hugged both Yubin and Handong.

“I’m sorry. I know it’s your day but thank you for agreeing.” Handong smiled.

“Of course, Yoohyeon. Minji is happy. You’re happy. We all are. And I couldn’t be more glad that this day is special for all of us.” Yoohyeon made her way to her now fiancee and gave her a long kiss.

“I love you, Minji. Thank you.” Minji just continued to hug Yoohyeon.

“I love you too, Yoohyeon. And I should thank you for choosing me.” Minji’s heart was so light. It was so happy, so fulfilling, it felt worthy of Yoohyeon’s life. She still can’t believe that Yoohyeon chose her to be the woman that she’ll spend her life with. Yoohyeon was nervous the whole night, but the smile and the answer that Minji gave her was everything. Minji just answered the most important question that she would ever ask, and she is proud to be Minji’s soon-to-be wife.

Yoohyeon and Minji were now home. Minji was smiling the whole night. She can’t stop looking at the ring that Yoohyeon placed on her earlier. It was so beautiful, twinkling whenever light would hit it. Now lying on Yoohyeon’s chest, Minji raised her hand.

“I can’t believe this, Yooh. W-we’re getting married. You’ll be my wife. I'll be able to call you my wife.” Minji giggled, feeling giddy at the idea of being Yoohyeon’s wife. Yoohyeon reached over and held Minji’s hand that was raised. She played with the ring before saying,

“Me too, Minji. I thought about when to do it.” Minji wrapped her arm around Yoohyeon’s waist.

“How did you even tell Handong and Yubin? And OMG! I still have to tell mom and dad.” Yoohyeon gave a kiss on Minji's temple.
