"I have no values?" Jungkook clutched Jin firmly, glaring at him viciously.
In fear, Jin swallowed. He had unintentionally upset the King, but the truth was, he did not see the King as a person of values. As he had seen the King do, no human being with values would do those things.
"My King, I am sorry if I have offended you, but from what I have seen, I don't think you do. Even if you do, they do not fit the values my parents instilled in me. Therefore, I do not mind if you send me home as long as my parents won't get hurt."
Suddenly, Jin screamed while being shoved against the room wall by Jungkook. "How dare you?" In a rage, he shouts, "Who do you think you are to speak to me in this way?"
As Jin was pressed against the wall, tears trickled down his cheeks, and he trembled under the King's grip, "Y-you are hurting me-"
"You need to shut up! You've crossed several lines today, and I will take all necessary actions to punish you for them." Jungkook released his grip on Jin and departed the room.
With tears in his eyes, Jin slid to the floor in an attempt to hold himself in place as he cried, knowing he had originally made this decision for his parents' benefit, but there was no way they would be happy with his choice now with what he was going through.
There was no telling what punishment was to come; perhaps it would have been better if he remained silent, but what he saw as wrong was too hard to keep quiet about. He was well-liked in his community for his kindness, and he resented injustices and wrongdoings, especially those involving harm to others.
His parents were not wealthy, but they spent all of their time looking after him and teaching him to be kind and compassionate, and this has been a quality he has carried with him throughout his life. This was something he saw lacking in the kingdom, he once thought of the Prince as a kind person, but being made aware of his betrayal, he no longer thought the same. Two times now, he had been betrayed by the Prince, once when he thought he was coming to serve another Prince and then the tea that the Prince had given him. For being so easily trusting of others, he felt stupid and gullible.
A familiar scream causes Jin to lift his head; as soon as he does, he sees the King dragging the woman from earlier, causing panic to rise in him.
"Please, My King, please!" He hears the woman pleading voice as she stares at him with tears streaming down her face.
"I am a King without values, one who does not protect or serve. In this world, I kill those who do not obey my laws, and you have committed a serious crime against me, for which you deserve to die no matter what anyone else thinks! The decision about who lives and who dies is mine. This is my kingdom." Jungkook spoke with his eyes fixed on Jin as he held tightly to the woman, holding her hands behind her back.
Jin rose to his knees and, with tears streaming down his cheeks. He watched one of the guards who had followed the King to his room, hand over the King's sword to him, and without hesitation, the King brought the blade to the woman's throat and sliced it.
Jin screamed, his body going into shock as Jungkook let the woman fall to the ground, blood gushing from her throat, her eyes fixed on Jin as she drew her last breath.
"Stand up!" As the King screamed at him, he grabbed him from the ground, shoving him toward two guards, "now lock him up, and he is only allowed one meal per day."
