TEASER 2(part 2)

Today we are having the Knights for dinner and Im speeding up because I know Im late.

Rushing inside the house I saw all my family and the Knights sitting on the dinning table.After apologising for being late and earning one or maybe even two scowl looks from my family I sat down.After having a peaceful lunch(thankfully) everybody sat down in the living room talking about everything and everyone while I just stood there staring like a dumb(drop dead me in real life😂).

"Laura may I have a word with you":-Mary said earning a confused nod from me:-"alone":-she added making Andrea turn his head with a questioning look towards her.

Ignoring her husbands look Mary got up and I lead her to my dads office which was in the opposite of the living room and all see through glass(which I hated).

So ...what did you want to talk to me about?":-I asked her while pouring some drink for her and myself.

"Laura since you live in Switzerland for so many years now I wanted to ask you if you know anything about the Kellers?":-she asked making me almost drop the bottle down.

Why would she be asking about those people?

"Well I actually live near their house but I havent heard anything more from them...since that day":-I said.

"Which day?":-Mary asked again.

"From the day that that accident happened and they...died.I mean the parents died because their little girl didnt":-I said after finishing the glasses and turning to give one to her but was stopped by the realization.

Maybe it was the suspicion why was she asking this who made me understood,maybe were the tears in her eyes which made me understood...that little girl that day.....was Mary.

"Maisie I-...Im so sorry":- I said tears gathering in my eyes too.

"Its okay there was nothing that could be done":-she responded while tears were falling freely down her cheeks.

"Wasnt your mom pregnant at that time-"

"I was gonna have a brother":-she said putting her head in her hands.

"What happened?":-I asked my voice barely a whisper.

"It was the day I learned I was gonna be a sister and I couldnt be happier...I sprinted to my uncles house next to mine to tell him too but what I never expected was to find my uncle raping a small girl who was dead.My parents came running after me telling me to stop the habit of running away from them but they stopped on their tracks too at the sight.

"They know,catch them!:-shouted my uncle but I was already being dragged by my parents outside and no matter what that sight was carved in my mind...that girl was aorund my age...I could have been her...yet she died.

Entering our car my parents sped up wishing those people were gonna stop following us but they didnt.Soon they reached us and stopped our car...and all I remmeber is my parents shouting at me to run to the forest..and I ran at the sight of my parents getting killed...I ran for my life...I ran like a loser."

"You were only four":-I whispered remembering the article I had readed.

"We were a famous family in Switzerland":-she continued ignoring me-:"so the word spreaded fast.I told all the truth in front of the judge and soon my psycho uncle was put in sentence life prison.I was sent to an orphange and never turned back there...I never had the courage to...and yet I wish I could see one more time that place ...even if it means from a record.":-she just in time as a knock was heard.

"Mom are you ok?just wanted to say we are leaving.":-Ash said from the other side of the door.

Turning my head to the glass wall I noticed for the first time since I had entered(as much as I could from the tears)that everybody was staring at us with a confused and concerned look.

"Yes darling im coming":-maisie said and wiping her tears and straightening her dress she got up and thanking me for the conversation she opened the door with a smile.How can that woman put a smile after all she passed?I dont know that honestly...all I know is that she is a strong woman.

Everyone was already out yet there I stood like a dumb still not believeing what just happened.I had in my hands everything what Mary wanted,the record of that days news,a very speacial one probably the only one left in the world since her psycho uncle(who was now dead)made sure to erase that news from the surface of Earth.

Yet I had found it in the old files at my house back in Switzerland who was actually part of the same village as hers.

Should I give it to her?That would open a old wound,but still it is her last wish.

Sighing loudly I started running towards the front door and as soon as I went there I saw Mary and her husband Andrea entering their car.

"MARY!":-I shouted making everyones head turn.
