Chpt. 4

-Erica's p.o.v.--the next day-

I walked through the halls of the school in my cheerleading outfit since today there was a game. Every Friday there's a football game, and every Friday we wear our cheer outfit. I smiled at some of the football players and they whistled.

I turned the corner going to my locker opening it. I heard a squeal and instantly knew it was Heather.

"Tell me! Tell me! Tell me! Tell me!" Heather said quickly as she ran up to me.

"Tell you what?" I asked.

"Ugh, you texted me last night that you had to tell me something. So tell me" she said.

"Oh right, well come with me" I said shutting my locker as I pulled her to the bathroom. I checked every stall and made sure no one was in here.

"Okay" I breathed out and turned to Heather.

"Well? What is it?" She asked.

"I found my mate yesterday" I said and she squealed loudly making me quickly cover her mouth.

"That's great!" She said but sounded more like. 'That's apple grape!'. I stiffled a laugh and uncovered her mouth.

"You know, you don't seem so happy about finding your mate" she said and I shook my head jumping up on the sink counter.

"Its not that, its just....yesterday I had all the intentions to reject my mate-"

"What?!" She asked in disbelief.

"Why?" She asked crossing her arms over her chest.

"Because my mate is....is a girl" I said and her eyes grew wide and then a short laugh left her mouth. She quickly covered her mouth but that didn't stop her from full on laughing. I huffed out glaring at her.

"Okay, okay I'm sorry" she said controlling her laughter.

"So, you rejected her right?" She asked and I looked down.

"No" I said and heard her puff out a laugh making me look up at her. She had her arms crossed over her chest and she looked up at the ceiling.

"Can you say gay or nah?" She asked making me throw the closest thing by me at her. She laughed again as she caught my pencil box.

"I'm kidding! I thinks it great you finally found your mate even if it is a girl" she said and I smiled.

"Thanks, but what do I do? How do I tell people?" I asked.

"I don't know, just straight up say 'hey! I'm gay! And my mates a girl!'" She said and I threw my eraser at her.

"Why don't you say it a little louder? I don't think China heard you!" I whispered/shouted at her. She just smiled at me and shrugged.

"I want to meet her. What's her name?" She asked.

"Jayda, she's really pretty and just perfect" I said and she just smiled at me.

"What?" I asked.

"You have that dreamy look in your eye...wait you said you were going to reject her? Why didn't you?" She asked.

"I don't know, she looked at me and she took my breath away, literally. I went from wanting nothing to do with a female mate to wanting to hold her close to me forever" I said and she loudly went 'awe!'.

"Come on, let's get to class"
