Chpt. 27

-Erica's p.o.v.-

"Well, I only went out with that guy for Lulu-"

"Explain from the beginning" he said and I sighed.

"Okay" I said replaying back the memories.

"The day before cheer camp Lulu pulled me away at lunch, said we needed to meet at out secret place. I went there and there she explained to me who Hunter was. I was helping her out, that guy was a criminal" I paused and sat down.

"I didn't realize that I had butt dialed Jayda, I didn't even know that I did-"

"A criminal?" My brother asked and I nodded.

"She was helping out the police to get him, she had came to me for help and I agreed to do it. I wore a necklace that was wired as a mic. I met him at the cafe and the cops busted him with my help. The only way to pull him in was to tell him I was single" I finished explaining.

"You out yourself in danger for Lulu?" He asked.

"Yes! I'm a werewolf, he was human, I had a great advantage!"

"Why would you do it anyway?" He asked pissed.

"Because!" I said.

"Because why?" He asked.

"Because he was Jaydas fathers friend! He raped Jayda too! He ruined her life just as much as her parents!" I blurted out and he looked stunned.

"What?" He asked.

"He raped Jayda, he was friends with her father. He's raped and assaulted so many girls and women. I did it to get him put away" I said looking him in the eyes.

"Why was Lulu brought into that?" He asked.

"Because he raped Lulu too, she needed help and she came to me. She knows I would be able to defend myself seeing as I'm a werewolf, and pretty strong one at that, too" I said and he sighed.

"He got put away?" He asked and I nodded.

"Give Jayda time, then go to her and explain what happened" he said.

"Can't i-"

"No, go home. Stay away from her for now" he said and I sighed.

"We can't stay away for long, we'll get sick" I said and he shook his head.

"I'll take care if it, let me talk to her. Just go home" he said and I nodded.

-at home-

I clicked play on one of the videos to see a girl I recognized. I know her. At one of my old schools. Rage boiled inside me. She's a shewolf.

I stood up grabbing my bag and packing it up.

I have a little business to attend to keep myself busy while I stay away from Jayda.

I quickly wrote a note saying:

   Dear, family
I can't take not being near Jayda so im leaving. I don't know when or if I'll be back. Don't come after me. This is something I have to do.

After I was packed and ready to go, I grabbed her laptop and phone getting into my car. I backed out of my driveway and drive to the post office. I got out and went inside with a letter I wrote to Jayda.

"Can I have this sent?" I asked a man behind the counter.

"Yes, Ma'am" he said taking the letter from me. I gave him Jaydas address and he said it'll be delivered by tomorrow afternoon. I thanked him and left.

I drove out of the city not stopping.

Im on the run. Right now, I'm racing against the clock.

-Jaydas p.o.v.--the next day-

I was laying in bed thinking about the talk I had with Landon last night.

He told me Erica explained to him why she went out with that guy. But he wouldn't tell me what she said, said I need to hear it from her.

I still dont want to speak to her right now but my heart aches to be near her.

"Jayda you have mail" my aunt said coming into the room. I slowly sat up and looked at her outstretched hand holding the envelope. I took it from her and opened it.

I pulled out the letter and immediately knew it was from Erica. I unfolded the letter and started reading it.

'Dear Jayda my sweet, sweet mate,
  I love you so much, I hate knowing you're mad at me. But by the time you get this letter I'll be long gone. I'm leaving and I don't know when I'll return. I have some business to take care of and it might take awhile.

Because I'm going to be away for a bit. I'm just going to explain why I went with that guy. I swear to you I didn't do anything but put him in his place.

His name was Hunter Jacob-'

Oh my gosh, she went out with the guy who raped me? My fathers best friend? Why?!

'I was helping Lulu who was helping the police to catch him. I put myself in danger because I knew what he did to you. He has been wanted in several states. I stepped up because he was human and I'm a werewolf. He's in prison, and will be for a very long time.

I never meant to hurt you but now since you don't want to be near me. I'm leaving to deal with some business.

By the time I finished reading the letter I was in tears.
