Chpt. 31

-Erica's p.o.v.-

"You have cancer" Clay said and I blinked quickly. Looking ahead at the wall.

"What?" I whispered.

"I'm so sorry" he said and I shook my head.

"No, no this is a mistake" I said.

"Its not a mistake Erica-"

"Then what kind of cancer do I have?" I asked hoping he couldn't name one off, which would mean this isn't real.

"Chronic lymphocytic leukemia" he said and I let of a sigh while resting my head on my pillow.

"You can't tell anyone, do you hear me? No one" I said and he nodded.

"No one knows your here" he said.

"Good, now I want to go home" I said.

"I know, you will" he said and I shook my head sitting up.

"I have to go home now, I was suppose to head home yesterday, I can't be gone any longer, Jayda will get sick" I said looking at him.

"Okay, okay I'll go talk to some of the doctors and nurses" he said getting up.

"Where's my phone?" I asked.

"Oh, uh right here" he handed me my phone and I turned it on. 50 missed calls from jayda, my mom, brother and best friend. Loads of texts too.

I clicked on Jaydas name calling her. I listened as it rang.

"Hello? Erica?" She asked sounding worried.

"H-Hey" I said clearly my throat trying to sound happy.

"You okay?" She asked.

"Yea, I'm fine, sorry I missed all your calls my phone died and I couldn't get to a charger or I was driving" I lied.

"Oh, okay" she said.

"Yea, I'll be heading home now, I should be there in three days" I said.

"Three days?!" She asked.

"I know, I know I'm sorry, I didn't expect to be gone this long" I said.

"Please come home, I miss you" she said and tears burned my eyes. I bit my bottom lip closing my eyes trying not to cry.

"Erica you there?" She asked worried. I took a deep breath.

"Yea, yea I'm sorry, I'm here and I miss you too" I said my voice cracking slightly. Great.

"You don't sound okay" she said.

"Well, I've been away from you too long" I said.

"I'm starting to feel it too" she mumbled. The door opened and the doctor, nurses and clay came in.

"Hey, baby I have to go, okah? I'll talk to you soon" I said.

"Oh" she sounded sad.

"Okay, I love you" she said and I softly smiled.

"I love you too" I said and hung up.

"So, glad your awake Ms. Moon" the doctor said sitting on those circular swivel chairs and looked at me.

"Call me Erica" I said.

"Okay, Erica, so we've been informed that you would like to go home" he said and I nodded.

"I understand that you want to go home but you're too weak to travel" he said.

"I don't care, I'm just gonna get weaker, I need to be near my mate" I said.

"So, we will fly him-"

"Her" I interrupted and he looked surprised.

"H-Her out here to be with you" he said and I shook my head.

"No, I don't want anyone knowing what's happening" I said.

"Okay, we will figure somethin out" he said.

"Good" I said.

Right now we were going 80 mph down the back roads to get me home. Clay was driving and the doctor with two nurses were following in a van behind us with everything I might need.

We've been driving for about a day now. Taking breaks to sleep and eat.

We're making great time seeing as we're in Missouri. Every time we passed a pack they let us through or escorted us through their own roads at 100 mph maybe faster.

I'm getting weaker and weaker as the minutes tick by. Its both from being away from Jayda too long and the cancer. My wolf is weak making me weak.

I wouldn't be this weak if it wasn't for the cancer.

"We're nearly there" clay said and I nodded.

I pulled out my phone sending Jayda a text that I'm nearly home.

Clay had informed my brother where I was and what is going on. That we will be coming in pretty fast but to not tell our parents what is going on yet.

I spotted the sign that said "welcome to Kentucky". We drove and drove making great time.

I leaned my head back feeling pain in my bones and a huge headache.

"Are you okay?" Clay asked worried glancing at me repeatedly.

"My head and body hurts" I said. He pressed harder on the gas flying down the back road. He took a turn and entered the pack village. He took a sharp turn into my drive way shutting off the car. My brother came out of the house as Clay got out coming to my door.

"How is she?" Landon asked.

"She's getting worse" he said unbuckling me. He picked me up and I looked around to see the pack looking at us to see what is going on.

"Get her inside" he ordered and the doctor and nurses quickly followed with the machines.

"No, I don't want Jahda seeing them" I said and they nodded hiding them in my house.

"Where's Jayda?" Clay asked.

"She's coming" Landon said. Clay laid me on my bed covering me up.

"You'll be okay" he said.

"My head hurts so much" I cried out covering my eyes.

"Get her some medicine" Clay said. Just then Jayda came in with her aunt.

"Erica's weak too?" Ally asked and Landon nodded.

"Get the two near each other now then let them rest to regain their energy" landon said and Jayda was laid next to me. I turned over pulling her into me resting my head in the crook of her neck breathing in her scent.

"I missed you" she mumbled.

"I missed you too, more than you know" I said.

"I love you, no natter what happens" I said then fell asleep.
