Chpt. 16

-Jaydas p.o.v.-

I walked through the halls of the school mad that my aunt and uncle forced me to go today. I turned the corner too see things attached to Erica's locker. I walked down to her locker to see what it was.

All over her locker was get well cards, pictures of Erica and the cheerleading squa or her and Heather. There was a small banner that said 'We miss you'. Tears stung my eyes as I looked at all of it.

"Jayda?" I heard someone say and turned to see Lulu.

"Oh, hi Lulu" I said whipping my eyes.

"Its okay to cry, I wont judge you" she said softly and took a step forward.

"How is she doing?" She asked looking at Erica's locker.

"She's slowly getting better but the doctors say its not enough" I explained, silence took over us.

"How can I lose her, when I just got her?" I asked to no one.

"Oh, sweetie" Lulu said hugging me. We just stood there while I cried on her shoulder.

-an hour later-

I sat by Erica's bed side praying she'll wake up. She's been in a coma for a few days but it feels like forever. I held her hand to my lips softly kissing her hand.

"I love you Erica" I spoke quietly.

"Seriously?!" I heard Landon yell and then the door opened. Landon and his father came in.

"Look at her!" landon said pointing to Erica.

"How can you live with yourself?  You disowned your daughter because her mates a girl. Who cares! Erica was still Erica! Now she's dying on her death bed and you dont care?" Landon said his voice strong.

"She repeatedly told you that she hates you, that she will always hate you and you don't care?" He asked and I stood up to leave when I felt Erica squeeze my hand making me freeze.

"She can die-"

"Guys!" I said quickly interrupting them.

"What?" Landon asked looking at me.

"She just squeezed my hand" I said and landon looked confused.

"She what?" He asked.

"She squeezed my hand, I think she's waking up" I said and a few seconds later her eyes fluttered open. Landon quickly ran out of the room calling for a doctor. The doctor came in and took the tube out of her throat. She coughed and I gave her water. I gently helped her sit up as she leaned on me. She glared at her father.

"Get out" she said harshly.

"I want you out!" She said a little louder. He walked out of the room and the doctors started asking her questions.

After they were done they finally left. I smiled at Erica and she returned it.

"I love you so much" I said over joyed she woke up.

"I love you too just as much" she said and I kissed her forehead.

"I thought I was going to lose you" I whispered.

"Never"
