Chpt. 17

-Erica's p.o.v.--a week & 1/2 later-

"I said I'm fine!" I snapped at my mother with my back turned away from her. I was released from the hospital a week ago. The first few days i had to walk around, they wanted to make sure i wasnt paralyzed.

Ever since I woke up no one has left me alone. I don't know why but I always have this anger inside me I keep trying to hide it because I don't want to hurt anyone. No matter what I do I keep snapping at people.

"Erica-"

"I think you need to leave" I said harshly to Jayda who came over an hour ago.

"Oh, yea okay" she said trying to hide the hurt in her voice and walked to the front door.

"Um, I guess I'll see later" she said quietly. I grunted in response not looking at her.

"I love you" she said and I clenched my jaw and just walked off not saying it back. I slammed my door shut and locked it.

Im so angry and I don't even know why.

-Jaydas p.o.v.-

I flinched as Erica slammed her bedroom door. I quickly blinked a few times as I sniffed.

"Jayda, I don't think she-"

"Its okay, I think im-" I quickly took in a breath holding myself together. "-just going to give her space for awhile" I said and turned opening the door and leaving.

"I'm home!" I called out as I walked through my front door. I turned the corner to see my aunt and uncle sitting on the couch.

"Whats going on?" I asked.

"I think you need to sit down" my aunt said and I cautiously sat down.

"Can someone please tell me what's going on?" I asked.

"Your mother made bail" my uncle said.

"She what?" I asked shocked.

"She made bail and wants you in her custody" my aunt said.

"No!" I said standing up and taking a step back.

"I won't, I refuse" I said and they stayed quiet.

"Im afraid you don't have that choice" my aunt said and then there was a knock on the door. My uncle stood up and answered it as the social worker who has been on my case walked in.

"Are you ready to go?" She asked and I took a step back.

"No. I'm not leaving, I doing really well here" I said and she sighed.

"Your mother got a small apartment near the town curtisy by the judge, you'll still be at your school and you'll be able to see your friends" she said and I turned away from her.

"I am not going" I said and walked up to my room locking it.
