-Landon's p.o.v.--1:15am-

I sat in the waiting room with my mom, dad, Eva and Jayda still waiting to hear anything about my sisters condition. I looked at Jayda as she whipped her eyes. I then noticed a ton of thin pink lines all up and down both her arms. I furrowed my eyebrows, does she hurt herself?

"Ms. Moon?" The doctor called out and we all stood up.

"Is she okay?" Jayda asked before any of us could.

"Unfortunately no, it appears Erica has suffered from a ton of trauma. Her left rib cage has been shattered and some of the bone shards punctured her left lung making it colaspe. She also broke her right leg and left arm. But my main concern is the puncture to her torso. When her car flipped and was hit with a different car a large piece of metal went through her torso causing internal bleeding"

"Now, we got it to stop and was able to stitch her up but her heart keeps failing. We had to move her to the ICU on life support. I'm afraid she slipped onto a coma and may never wake up and if she does wake up she may never walk again" he finished saying. Jayda let out a sob as she fell to her knees. I squatted next to her comforting her.

"Can we see her?" I asked.

"Family only" he said and we all stood up.

"Is she family?" The doctor asked pointing to Jayda.

"She's her mate, yes she's family" I said and he nodded. We followed close behind him till we reached her room. He let us inside and I had to look away from the view of my sister practically looking dead.

"Oh my gosh" Jayda whispered rushing to her side along with my mother. I walked to her bed side crying all over again.

She's my sister, she doesn't deserve to die.

-Jaydas p.o.v.--a day later-

I had my head resting on the side of Erica's bed looking up at her. I brushed my hand against hers longing to feel her hand in mine the way she would intertwine our fingers.

"I miss you Erica, we all do" I whispered as a flashback came to me.

-flashback-

I quietly leaned against the wall in the commons away from everyone. Out of nowhere the most amazing smell hit my nose making midnight jump for joy. I looked around spotting a girl.

'Mate!' Midnight said happily. The girl looked up at me with a slightly hard expression. She said something to her friends and then quickly walked off. I sighed following her just wanting to get this rejection over with.

I turned the corner and saw her grab a bag from her locker. She looked over at me and slammed her locker shut. I looked down avoiding her stare as she walked over to me in a straight stance.

"What's your name?" She asked.

"Jayda" I spoke quietly.

"Well, Jayda-" shr started to say but cut herself off when I looked up at her.

"I only followed you so we can get this rejection thing over with" I said softly. She looked slightly confused.

"You're rejecting me?" She asked and I furrowed my eyebrows confused.

"No? I thought you were going to reject me" I said and she took a deep breath through her nose.

"Well, you're wrong" she said making my heart beat like crazy in my chest. I was genuinely surprised.

"You-You're not?" I asked and she shook her head no.

"You're my mate Jayda, I don't care if you're also a girl, I accept you" she said with a small smile.

"Oh" I mumbled with a hint of relief and happiness.

"I have to go but I'll see you later, okay?" She asked and I nodded. She looked all around us and gently placed her hand on my left shoulder and kissed my cheek making me blush then she walked off.

-End of flashback-

I honestly thought she was going to reject me that day but she didn't. I sighed sadly when the door to the room opened.

"Oh my god" I heard her best friend Heather gasp as she rushed to Erica's side. I looked up at her to see her crying.

"How are you holding up?" She asked through her tears and taking a deep breath.

"Me? What about you?" I asked and she shook her head.

"This shouldn't have happened to her, she's only 17" she said holding her left hand.

"I know, it should be me in this spot, not her" I said quietly.

"No, I mean no one should be in this spot. People need to learn how to drive, if she dies I'm going after the person who did this" Heather said and I could tell she meant it.

"And I'll help you" I said and she sadly smiled at me.

"She'll pull through Jayda, she always does"
