"I can't believe this is happening..." Damien grumbled, holding a hand over his face. He scrolled through the comment section for the latest video to find it filled with hate comments towards Shayne. He never thought it'd get to this point but the whole situation between you and his best friend had gotten twisted. So twisted, in fact, that your fans were now attacking him for something that wasn't really his fault. Your fans hated him, his fans hated you. The only difference is that you had a publicist to cover everything up and make the bad stuff go away.

He didn't.

All this negative press was really hurting the channel. But it was hurting Shayne more.

He was becoming closed off. He didn't want to talk about anything. He felt like he's been talking about it for months on end and he was sick of it. Like nobody wanted to talk about anything else. Everything always came back to you.

'Shayne! Is it true that you broke up with (y/n)?' A paparazzi asked, following Shayne out of the Whole Foods he was just in.

'I'm not talking about this anymore. Please go away.'

'Do you regret breaking up with her?' Shayne ignored him, knowing the answer but not willing to say it. 'Would you give her a second chance if she asked?'

'Look man...' Shayne angrily stopped his cart. '(Y/n) and I broke up. Yes. The reasoning doesn't matter, but yes we did. I'm not her boyfriend anymore. I'm not some important public figure that you can just follow around and harass anymore. Now please just leave me alone.' Shayne said. The photographer lowered his camera, listening to Shayne's words. He nodded, letting Shayne continue the walk to his car in peace.

It wasn't the end of the swarmings... but they did lessen substantially. Shayne took the time away from the light to relax. The movie was going to be coming out soon and that meant that the drama surrounding you, Chris, and him was going to pick back up again.

And since then, he was quiet. Nobody dared speak your name around him when he was in the office, and he appreciated that. He wanted to stay mad at you. He wanted the last memory he had of you to be that negative one. He wanted this breakup to stick no matter how much he actually loved you. And talking about that would prove his mentality otherwise. If he talked about it, he would crack, decide to give you another chance, and then he'd be right back where he started.

Try as he might, Shayne still couldn't get you off of his mind. You plagued his memories. Everything from your smile to your kiss made him yearn for you to be with him. But you couldn't be. Part of him wanted to know that you regretted everything, that you were sorry for what you did. But more than that... He wanted to know that you were okay.

"Ms. (Y/l/n)! Mr. Evans! It's great to meet you both!" The interviewer said as you sat down for the press interview. You shook hands, smiling at the kind-looking woman. "Thank you for taking the time to meet with me!"

"Thank you for having us!" Chris smiled. "It'll be a good time!"

"So if you two are ready, we'll start!" You both nodded, and the interviewer motioned to the camera man. She introduced the media site she was working for and introduced the two of you. While she did that, you found yourself zoning out, staring just beside the leg of her chair. When she introduced you and Chris, you snapped out of it, smiling and nodding to the camera.

She began talking about the film. Asking questions like what your favorite parts of set were, what were your character's motives, and if you've ever been somebody's Love Fool. You had to resist the urge to roll your eyes at such a cheesy question, knowing that any action you made could be overanalyzed by the internet. Eventually, one of the assistants motioned for the last questions.
