"Do you regret starting the relationship?"

"I regret going public about it." You said, sitting perfectly primed and professional in your all black pant-suit. The interviewer tilted their head at you, furrowing their eyebrows at your response. You kept your hands folded in your lap, squeezing them as tight as you could so the shaking wasn't as noticible. It was important that you remained calm and composed during this interview. A lot was riding on it.

"How do you mean?" The interviewer asked, playing with the cue cards in their hands.

"The relationship wasn't the problem. The media was." You spoke as calmly as possible, being very careful to hide your wobbly voice. "They spend all their time looking for news in any way they can just to make a quick buck, but they don't think about the repercussions." You stared off past the interviewer, thinking about absolutely everything that had happened up to that point. The good. The bad. The ugly. "They know they have the power to ruin somebody's life... They just don't acknowledge it." You took a deep breath, finally pulling your eyes up to meet the interviewers. "There was nothing wrong with the relationship. The relationship was perfect."

He was perfect.

"Have you been in contact with him since?"

You shook your head. "No."

"Do you think you will get in contact with him?"

You let out a shaky breath. "No."

"Why not?" They prodded, leaning forward in their chair as they stared you down. You stared right back, taking a moment to silence your reeling thoughts. You shook your head, biting the insides of your cheeks as you planned out your answer.

"Because he doesn't want me." You stated, tilting your head to the side. Your voice remained calm and clear but there were tears welling up in your eyes. The interviewer sat back in their chair, surprised at the forward answer. "There's no saving what we had."

"What did you have?"

You raised your eyebrows in surprise. "You really wanna know?"

"I really do. I think we all do." They leaned back and motioned to the cameras.

"Well then..." You straightened up in your seat. "We should probably start from the beginning."
