The room the event was being held in was unlike anything you had ever seen before. The rich, dark wood that lined the walls and floors along with the ornate ceiling decorations gave the whole place a modern gothic feel. Clouded windows stretched to the ceiling along with huge glass doors that lead out to a concrete balcony. The position of these aspects allowed all the natural light from the day to flood in. However, due to the late hour, sections of each wall were covered floor to ceiling with string lights to illuminate the room. In the middle of the vaulted, spired ceilings was a huge, Phantom of the Opera style chandelier. The probably thousands of crystals that decorated it caught the lights in a way that scattered the light further.
Tables stretched as far as the room would go, each numbered and tagged with the names of the companies in attendance. Most were gathered on either end of the room while the rest lined the walls. Each table had a beautiful centerpiece that included red and white roses and daisies along with fairy lights and candles. White cloth covered the tables and chairs and was complimented by black napkins. Each corner had a bar staffed by people in black slacks, vests, ties, and white shirts.
The door you entered through led to a grand staircase, the dark wood polished to show you your reflection. You held onto Pedro's arm as you descended, being extra careful not to trip on your long gown. However, this was harder to accomplish than you originally thought since you couldn't help but look at the sights around you.
"This place is incredible." You breathed out, your eyes dazzling in the light. Pedro looked over, your words were almost unheard by the amount of chattering people that surrounded you.
"Yeah, they really went all out." Pedro said, his eyes beginning to wonder as well.
"What table are we at?" You asked. Pedro pulled your tickets out of his pocket.
"Eleven." He looked to one of the other table numbers. "Looks like we're up front!"
"Nice." You smirked, taking the lead to walk to your table.
"What table are we at?" Kimmy asked, looking back to Courtney. The blonde searched through her purse, pulling out the tickets.
"Thirty-four!" Courtney said, looking around. "Right there!" She pointed next to them. Their table was in the corner in the back cluster. As they arrived to their seats, they noticed that their table was next to Mythical's and some other familiar YouTube friends. The group began down the stairs, leaving the blonde and brunette besties behind. Damien had stopped a couple steps down from the top, noticing that Shayne wasn't with him. Instead, his friend's eyes were scanning the room, continuing his search for you.
"Dude, come on. You're not gonna find her like that." Shayne sighed, his shoulders slumping a bit.
"I can't see the front of the room anyway." He met his friend on the stairs, the two descending together as they followed their group.
"I assumed you wouldn't want to see her after what happened." Damien commented. Shayne shrugged, looking down at his shoes as he walked.
"I know and I shouldn't but... I don't know, after that interview she did where she apologized. That was live on air, dude!" His eyes widened, his hands coming up to emphasize his point. "I don't know... I just feel like I need to at least hear her out. I was kind of a dick to her when we broke up."
"You were a dick because she cheated on you..." Damien furrowed his brows. "You had a right..."
"Yeah, but I wouldn't let her explain herself... She's really not like that. I swear, I just..."
"You still love her." Damien finished.
"Yeah." Shayne nodded, looking at his friend. Damien put a hand on Shayne's shoulder, giving it a loving squeeze. "Is that bad?"
