Chapter 8

Whatever the circumstances, I am confident that there will be solace for every sorrow.

Solace is not designated to be a replication, but rather an invitation to enter the macrocosm via the door of dolefulness and hardship, to experience the depth of anguish and simultaneous resplendency that the strategic mind alone cannot comprehend or make sense of.

In his embrace, I felt comfort. I felt a sense of calm whenever he was around. Perhaps it's because he was there for me when I truly needed him. When I was fatigued in my life, he was there to console me.

He's the man who has entered my life to be my refuge. My tranquillity. My solace.

I'm cognizant that the comfort I'm experiencing right now is only momentary. Because I understand that there is nothing permanent in this world but true love, perpetual love. However, this is not a profound appreciation situation.

"Vote Vernaya Velasco for mayor! A huge change will surely come to this city!"

"Go, Ms. Vernaya! We are always supporting you! I hope you can win this upcoming election!"

"Ms. Vernaya is the only one who's deserving to be the mayor of this town. No one will ever beat her. She's the best. She can do anything for the sake of our city!" sabi ng mga tao roon.

I have no choice but to come with her campaign.

Pero ang totoo, it was all a lie.

Gusto kong matawa kay Mama. I know that she's only doing this for her upcoming election as the mayor of this town.

It was Sir Jainzen, together with his mother and grandparents.

"Good luck sa mommy mo, Sir Jainzen. I didn't know na tatakbo din pala siya?" sabi ko nang makalapit sa kanya.

Tipid siyang tumango.

But it seems like I was wrong. Not until that Janice Lizarda run, too, as the mayor of this town."
