Then he thought again and typed, "I am also going to change my phone number and block you so that we lose all contact."
He hit the send button and waited for it to be read.

When it wasn't being read, he panicked. Maybe Tan was already on his way to the cottage. Max wanted to avoid a confrontation.

Max needed to do something about the phone as well. He took it in his pocket and decided he would throw it somewhere on the way.

He left for Bangkok in his car.

On the way he checked the phone a couple of times but the messages he sent were not read by Tan yet.

He started to panic a little. He wanted those messages to be read and believed so that Tan would leave him alone.

Then finally when he was filling gas at the station, he checked again. The messages were read finally. But no reply.

The car waiting behind his car to fill gas was behind him the whole way he noticed. It seemed like the car was following him but he brushed that thought away thinking it might be his mind playing tricks on him because of all that has happened in the past few days.

After filling the gas, he was calm again, knowing that Tan had read the message and would most likely back off now.

When Max entered Bangkok, Tul called, "Where are you now?"

"Almost home. Give me thirty minutes more."

Reaching Bangkok, he went up to the condo. He was already tired after the long journey.

Tul had made a glass of lemonade for him. Tul brought it to him and sat down beside him in the living room sofa.

Tul said, "I need to talk to you."

Right at that moment, the door bell rang.

"You sit. I will go check," Tul said.

Tul went and opened the door.

A man was standing outside the door.

"Yes, who are you?" Tul asked.

"I am Tan."

As soon as Max overheard this, he stood up and his eyes grew bigger and he started feeling anxious.

Tan was here. So he was not wrong. That car was Tan's car following him. Tan followed him all the way from the cottage to the condominium.

Tul said, "I don't know you. Do you live here?"

"No, I don't. I followed Max here from his cottage," Tan said.

Tul then asked, "How did you get past the reception?"

"Oh I walked right behind Max while crossing the reception, so she thought I came with Max. But that is not the point. I need to know where Boun is. Can I talk to Max?" Tan said.

Tul turned back at Max and saw the look on Max's face. It was pale and Tul could sense the anxiety off of it.

Tul said, "Max, do you need some rest? You don't look good."

"No, I am fine. Who is it?"

"Someone called Tan. He wants to talk to you about someone named Boun. Should I let him in?"

Tan pushed Tul's hand from the door, making way from himself to enter.

Tan entered and looked at Max, "Where is Boun?"

Tul got angry, "Excuse me. This is my condo. How can you step inside forcefully without taking permission?"

"Listen, you do not understand my situation. Boun is nowhere to be found. He is not receiving my calls, not replying to my messages," Tan told Tul.

"Okay but what does that have to do with Max?" Tul asked.

"He is Boun's boyfriend. They lived together in the cottage. Who are you?" Tan asked.

Tul looked at Max and then looked back at Tan and said, "I am Max's cousin."

Max was shocked that Tul just lied to Tan to save Max's ass even after knowing that Boun was Max's boyfriend.
