The next afternoon I met up with my friends Annabel, Olivia, Rosalie, and Onyx at our favorite cafe for lunch.
"Lilith, Demon told me what happened when his family joined you for dinner last night." Annabel said, glancing at her menu.
"I stood up to my father because all he cares about is that I give him grandchildren for the throne my happiness means nothing to him and my father wanted an arrange marriage for me. Damien told my father that he won't marry me because I am too outspoken and that I don't obey or speak unless spoken too." I said, opening my menu.
"That is not how a princess should act I guess boarding school taught you nothing."
"I got kicked out my second year for telling a teacher that no man will tell me what to do."
A waiter walked over to our table and took our food and drink orders he walked away.
"Lilith this is what we are talking about you are not acting like a princess you are acting like a savage. I'm sure your mother has called you out on your behavior because you are acting like your grandmother Queen Esmeralda." Olivia stated.
"I am proud to be Queen Esmeralda's granddaughter and she would be proud of the tough young woman that I became." I pointed out.
"We still don't understand why you think that being in love with a non-royal is okay because you have no future with him. You should let him go and find yourself a prince."
I felt like my friends are trying to tell me how to live my life like they are my mother.
"I don't care what any of you think or say I will be with Damon because we love each other!!" I declared.
"We don't support you and your love with stable boy." Annabel sneered.
I rose from the table with my purse and stormed out of the cafe I climbed inside my silver Volvo, I put the key into the engine and started the engine I put on my seat belt. I pulled away from the curb and drove away I am not going to let my friends run my life it's not my fault that I don't want to marry a prince. When I arrived at the castle, I drove through the wrought iron gate I parked the car and killed the engine I removed my seat belt. I grabbed my purse and climbed out of the car I closed the door I locked the doors and turned on the alarm I put my keys inside my purse. I made my way behind the castle and headed for the stables I spotted Abigail looking at my horse.
"Abigail is Midnight alright?"
"He's fine just going to let him run around a bit. Are you alright?"
"My so-called friends think I am crazy because I show no interest in marrying a prince." I sighed.
"I think they are jealous because you don't want to marry a prince and they are also jealous that you are in love with your childhood best friend. Don't let them get to you besides being a true royal comes from the heart that's what your grandmother used to say." Abigail stated.
I entered the stables and spotted Damon feeding the horses I walked towards him and kissed his cheek he looked surprised to see me.
"Your back early."
"I walked out of the cafe before the food and drinks arrived."
"Meet me at your mother's office." Damon said softly.
I left the stables and walked inside the castle I walked upstairs to the second floor and turned left I walked down the hall. I opened the door to my mother's office and entered the room I closed the door behind myself.
"Lilith, I thought you were having lunch with your friends." my mother said confused.
"I left before the food and drinks arrived." I sighed, removing my jacket and laying it on the couch along with my purse.
