Tseng x Reader: Y/n, the Assistant

Today was your first day of your assistant job at The Shinra Electric Power Company, and to be honest, you were nervous to meet your boss, and the Turks who worked there. The other day you had been interviewed by one of the Turks, and you almost couldn't contain your words as you explained your experience in assisting others. With his long luxurious hair that he wore proudly in a half up, half down updo, his charismatic personality and the way he walked into the interview with grace, you knew you had fallen head over heels for him. Once you were done brushing your hair and eating breakfast, you walked a couple blocks to work, where you were greeted by a red haired Turk and a bald headed Turk.

"You must be the new girl! Hi, I'm Reno, and this is my partner Rude. Welcome to the company!" You smiled politely and walked with them up to the boss's office.

"I warn you, he's pretty scary. Have fun!" He laughed as he pushed you into the cave of the beast that is your boss's office. You gazed upon a man with hay colored hair and ocean eyes.

"You must be my new assistant. Y/n, correct?" The blond man stood up to greet you.

"Y-yes sir! It's an honor sir!" You bowed, and sensing your nervousness, he chuckled.

"Do not be afraid. You'll find that everyone here is rather friendly, I promise you. The Turks may seem intimidating at first, but once you get to know them, you'll be like one of the guys, just like Elena. Come." You followed behind him, and took out your notepad and pen.

"My name is Rufus Shinra by the way, but you must address me at President Shinra, do you understand?" He introduced himself as you entered an elevator.

"Yes sir, President Shinra. What will my tasks be? I'm sure you or the Turks will keep me occupied, but I was just curious." He didn't answer you as you continued to follow him to the 49th floor, where the Turks hung out in the lounge. Upon entering, all four of the Turks stood and bowed to their boss. You recognized the red head Reno and his partner Rude, and the Turk who interviewed you, but not the short female.

"Everyone, this is Y/n. She'll be my assistant, so if there is anything you need, just ask her. Now, sorry to leave you to the wolves, but there's some paperwork that needs to be done. Behave Mr. Sinclair." Rufus left the room, and once he was in the elevator going up, Reno gave you a mischievous smirk.

"What's the matter toots? Afraid of being bitten?" He pulled you close to him.

"Uhh, I don't think-" you were suddenly pulled away by the mysterious Turk putting you behind him.

"That's enough Reno. I mean it." That voice caused you to shudder. He was so protective of you already!

"Tseng, she can handle herself! Can't you new girl?" The female gave you a warm smile.

"Whatever yo!! Hey new girl, since you can handle yourself, why don't you make yourself useful and buy us all coffee?" What?! But you barely know your way around the town! You just moved a week ago! You shook that thought from your head and nodded at them.

"Yes of course! I'll be right back!" You left without any hesitation. I'm so glad Tseng saved me from becoming Reno's chew toy! I just hope I adjust well here.., you thought to yourself. You skid to a halt. This isn't the main entrance!! You frantically started panicking. You were so new to this place, and here you are all alone, and lost! You dropped your notepad and pen and fell on your knees, tears threatening to fall from your cheeks. You closed your eyes, hoping to god this wasn't a dream, not seeing a pair of suited legs rush to your side.

"I remember my first day here. I was so young, but nervous. I knew what I signed up for when I became a Turk, but eventually, I accepted my fate." Tseng? Tseng!!" You stood up rapidly, and did your best to hide your puffy face.

"I'm so sorry.... You must think I'm a cry baby... I get anxious when I get lost in a place like this..." He handed you his hankie.

"Not at all. In fact, Reno was just like you. He cried a lot when he first started. Come with me." When you wiped your eyes, you noticed how calm and sincere they were. You walked with him and he showed you where everything was, and even took notes for you.

"This local coffee shop is our go-to for good quality coffee. My favorite is a large vanilla latte, with extra whipped cream, and a ham and cheese croissant sandwich." Your eyes widened. That was your favorite too!

"Mine too." You smiled and took note of what each Turk ordered, and once you were back at work, Tseng told you what he liked, and didn't like, and how he became a Turk. The whole walk you two had from the coffee place to work, you learned so much about him, but he had yet to learn about you.

"So, are the missions dangerous?" You can't imagine the dangers they have to face.

"They can be, yes. But it's all worth it when we come back in one piece." He replied.

"That's amazing. I can't possible risk my life for-" you tripped over your own foot, and was about to drop the bag of food you had in your hand.

"Careful!" Tseng gracefully caught you with his free arm, his other occupied with the coffee.

"I'm so sorry!" You blushed and kept good distance from him. The next few months were torture for you. You had truthfully fallen for Tseng, and you knew you couldn't with the risk of losing him during a mission. You constantly tossed and turned in your sleep, images of Tseng dying in your arms before you could confess your love for him. And one night, you decided that enough is enough. You were gonna tell Tseng how you felt about him! No more hiding from him, no more looking down at your heels in embarrassment! The next day, you went to work and found Tseng in the lounge sipping his coffee all alone.

"Tseng? Can I speak to you? Alone?" You fiddled with your fingers.

"Of course Y/n." You led him to an empty hallway, and took a deep breath, leaning against the wall. You looked up at him, meeting that entrancing gaze.

"Tseng, I don't know how to put this, so I'll just come out with it.... I like you... No... I LOVE you. Your kindness towards me is what drew me to you in the first place. It was actually your eyes and the way you walked into the room, but either way, you have me head over heels for you. I understand if you can't be with me for reasons...." You sobbed at the last sentence and Tseng picked your chin up.

"I was waiting for you to say that. I love you Y/n. I'm sure we can keep us a secret." He leaned in and deeply kissed you, not caring if Reno was paying Rude tons of gill around the corner.

"See, I told they would get together." Rude smiled.

"Shut up...." Reno rolled his eyes.
