Oh dear. Oh, was this the definition of dilemma. You had not one, but two men after your love and affection. You were just a mere artist, painting to your heart's content, making money off of commissions, big or small. Genesis Rhapsados was a very poetic man with his eyes set on you. You thought he was cute, with auburn colored hair and his gorgeous mako colored eyes, but he just didn't attract you that much. Vincent Valentine, a good friend of yours, was also in love with you, if not obsessed. Every day, Genesis would stop by and pose as your model, trying so hard to impress you.
"Oh Genesis! You're so funny!" You'd giggle at him, mainly to get him to go away, but truth be told, it only made it worse. Genesis came around more and more every day, flirting with you mad hard, desperately trying to get you to love him back. One day, you finally caught a break from him when you stopped by your friend Tifa's bar after a long day of completing commissions. Some took forever, and some took no time at all. Thank God Genesis wanted nothing to do with your friends.
"What's up, Y/n? You look exhausted." Yuffie just had to point out your behavior. You groaned and tossed your bag to the side. You always kept a bag of art supplies just in case inspiration hit you hard.
"Ugh, it's that guy again. He's obsessed with me. He finally left me alone." As you were saying that, Vincent looked up from the floor, anger fueling him. How dare this man be obsessed with his Y/n? You're his, all his.
"Hey, your life is like that song by Mariah Carey." Yuffie laughed, humming the tune to 'Obsessed'. She wasn't wrong, though. Why was Genesis so obsessed with you? Boy, did you want to know. Vincent decided to look more into this man who was hopelessly in love with you.
"At first, it was romantic, but now it's getting annoying. He thinks of me like i'm some sort of princess of art, and worships my work like I really accomplished something big. All i do is commissions, and let's not forget him scaring off any male clients!" You downed the drink that Tifa slid your way.
"Have you tried calling security on him? Maybe changing your routine?" Tifa suggested.
"Yes, and it never works! He's always coming back! And besides, don't you think I've tried that? He's figured me out!" You groaned lowly, feeling defeated.
"Why don't you just go out with him for once and turn the date into a bad one? Men hate that!" Yuffie horribly added.
"There's no way he's going to fall for that! He's way too smart!" You hated that there was no way to get rid of Genesis. No matter what you did, where you went, he always knew your routine. You were contemplating working from home, but even with that, he knew where you lived, only because during a rainy day, he offered to take you home safely, to which you agreed for the purpose of you and your art supplies staying dry. You were too poor to move, and Genesis was just too clever.
"I'll get rid of him personally, Y/n. Just say the word." Vincent had told you multiple times now, but in fear of a fight breaking out, you always declined. You always reassured him that everything was gonna resolve itself in due time. All it takes is a little patience. However, as much as Vincent loved you, he wasn't going to hold back this time. Nobody messes with his woman. This time, Genesis was going to regret ever meeting you. Over the course of a month, Genesis stopped coming around, and somehow that alone made you think you were safe. You went on with your life, painting to your heart's desire, completing commissions without the stress of Genesis breathing down your neck every second. One day, as you were arriving to your cozy little studio to work on a rather massive project, you walked in to see two bouquets of assorted flowers on your canvas stand. At first, you thought they came from your past customers thanking you for their finished painting. Only, that wasn't the case. You set your stuff down, looking for any signs of intrusion, but to no avail, no broken glass, nothing was knocked over. It all seemed the way you left it last night. That is, until the corner of your eyes caught a glimpse of a single strand of hair on the ground by the door. But upon further inspection, it wasn't an ordinary piece of hair. It was auburn in color and about three feet or two in length. No. Your heart dropped. This can't be.
