Okay, so this is my very first Cid X Reader, but that won't stop me from doing my best to write this! This was also requested by PenelopeJ101 , so please enjoy!

Ever since you could remember, you have always wanted to be a mechanic. Your father warned you it was a job not meant for women, but you proved him wrong by becoming a well known female mechanic, fixing anything to motorbikes to airships. Today, you were called to fix a few issues in an airship, and the person over the phone sounded like he was already done with life, but you assured him that everything was going to be done to repair his ship. When you arrived to Rocket Town, you didn't expect for everyone to be looking at you. Maybe it was your uniform? Anyways, you made your way to the house where the airship was, and you were able to see it in the backyard. It was huge! You knocked on the door, hoping someone will answer. It's blazing hot out! You fanned yourself, using your free hand to knock on the door again. Still no answer. Sighing, you let yourself in, knowing the door was unlocked. You stepped to the side, seeing a man and a woman arguing. The woman slapped the man and stormed out, paying you no mind. The man rubbed the back of his neck. He was a cute blond, with a rough looking face, his hair pulled back with a pair of old goggles, and when he saw you, he blushed.

"Err.... Sorry bout' that. It's a work thing. Anyways, who're you?" You held out your hand.

"I'm gonna pretend I didn't see that. Y/n, the mechanic you called to fix your airship. Might I say, how extraordinary it looks?" Cid smiled. Nobody has ever taken much interest in his airship before.

"Yup! That's mah Highwind! Here, I'll show you its true beauty!" You followed him to the backyard, where the huge ship laid waiting for repairs. You whistled in admiration.

"Wow, she sure is a beauty! So, I understand it's having some issues?" You walked around it, inspecting it. No leaks, no engine issues, it all seems perfect.

"Yeah, umm, it's actually a bigger issue than it seems. Whenever I start er' up, she stutters. And to make matters worse, her fuel tank acts like it's filled, but really isn't? Think you can fix this ol' girl?" Sensing his worry, you rested your hand on his shoulder.

"Hey, you've got the world's best mechanic standing right in front of you. I know I'm just a girl, but trust me, I know a lot, and there's nothing I won't learn. It seems like she means the world to you, so I'll do my best to fix her up brand new. If it gives you more comfort, you can help out, as long as you let me do my job. How does that sound?" Cid gave you a shy smile, and soon, you were well on your way to fixing his airship. You had to admit, it was quite difficult, trying to get it up and running. After hours of being under the hood, you stepped out from it, and sighed.

"It's going to take a couple days, but I was able to fix that issue with the fuel. I'll be back tomorrow afternoon to get in that engine." You used a clean rag go wipe the sweat from your forehead.

"I see. I reckon I should pay you for this?" You shook your head.

"I don't expect payment until the job is done completely. See you around Mr. Highwind." Before you could get to the front door, Cid stops you, grabbing your hand.

"May I buy you a drink? It's the least I can do for ya. What do ya say?" You agreed, and he took you to his favorite place, Seventh Heaven, where all his friends, plus the woman who slapped him.

"Everyone, this is Y/n. She's fixin' mah airship." You smiled and greeted them, giggling. Later that night, you had already left to prepare for the day ahead. The rough man was left with his own thoughts, at least, until the woman Shera snapped him out of it.

"Hey Cid! Earth to Cid! Are you okay?" She bugged him.

"Fuck off woman! Of course I'm okay! Why?" Shera realized he was blushing and teased.

"You like that Y/n, don't you?"

"So what? Got a problem with that?!" He looked away, clearly trying to hide his embarrassment. He couldn't hide the fact that you were the one for him. Nobody admired his airship more than him, and he was starting to fall for you.

"Of course not! But you better confess your feelings, before it's too late!" Secretly, Reno, Tifa, Barret, and Yuffie made a bet that they weren't going to get together, but Shera was rooting for you and Cid. The blond sighed. She was right. But what if you had someone? What if you weren't interested in dating?

"I don't care what you say. Keep me and Vincent out of this." Cloud sighed from the bar. The next day, you and Cid were in the backyard, back at it with the airship. You were loosening and tightening bolts, replacing different parts, and working your ass off.

"Damn! This is such a pain in the ass! How old is this thing any way?! Cid stood out of your way, only handing you the necessary tools. You were swearing badly, and that was a problem he himself had.

"It's quite old. My apologies for not addressing that yesterday." His mind was on tonight. Tonight, he was going to confess his feelings for you, and you had no idea!

"It's fine! I just- I just wish this fucking bolt would stay on already! Mother-Aha! Fuck you! I win!" You cheered, finally finishing your project.

"Is she done?!" You hugged him, not even thinking about your actions. You blushed and cleared your throat.

"She's done Mr. Highwind. Now, don't worry about payment right away. I'll send you the bill within a week when I can get a full estimate of everything that the ship needed." You gathered all your tools, and he followed you out.

"Oh, call me Cid! Mr. Highwind is my father! May I take you out for one last drink? You know, to celebrate?" You agreed, and you were back at Seventh Heaven, drinking away and having a good time. That is, until Cid started getting jealous of the way Reno grinded on you and flirted mad hard with you. Cid stormed to your direction, grabbed your wrist, and pulled you into a kiss, whispering how he really feels.

"Aww damnit! Reno, you asshole! You made us lose the bet!" Barret smacked the Turk upside his head, while Cloud and Vincent stood in the corner shaking their heads in disapproval, and let's just say you developed a strong relationship with Cid.
