3rd Person POV

Roman slipped the dress on and spun in the mirror a giddy smile appearing on his face. He clapped a little and sat on the bed waiting for Logan to come back up to get.  The door opened the logical side coming in.

"Why don't you look pretty today."

"You like it?"

"I love it baby."

He smiled more and got up, going over, "perfect, do you think Jan will too?"

"I know he will. You ready to head down?"

"Yep!"

"Are you sure about this? We can always do it up here too."

"Logan, I'll be fine. I have you and Janus and Remus and Patton. He won't try anything with all of you there."

He nodded, "alright, let's go then"

Roman grabbed his hand, walking downstairs to the kitchen with him.

"My my, what do we have here?"

Roman blushed a bit and hugged Janus, "do you like it?"

"You look gorgeous, of course I do."

"See I told you he would"

"Yeah yeah, you were right" the prince rolled his eyes playfully.

"Well isn't this a sight to see."

Roman tensed, the smile sliding off his face as he turned around. Virgil was leaning against the archway leading from the kitchen to the living room.

"My princess is all dressed up for me on his big day."

His eyes gazed the prince up and down hungrily. Ready to strike at any given moment. Janus wrapped an arm around his waist, holding Roman close to his chest.

"He's not yours and you weren't invited."

"Come on JJ, surly you can share with your spider."

Deciets grip faltered for a split second before tightening more around the smaller.

"You aren't laying a finger on him Anxiety." Logan glared at darker side, moving to stand closer to the birthday boy.

"Oh don't be such a party pooper logic, then again that is what you're best at, isn't it? Showing up when you aren't needed. Spewing nonsense and unwanted facts. Thank goodness we started shutting you up before Thomas started losing viewers. Not that anyone paid attention to you to begin with."

The logical side stiffened, trying to ignore Virgil, even though that was quite hard when the embodied of anxiety was making you anxious and doubt yourself.

"I mean what could someone like you. A robot with no feelings. Give Roman? Nothing. No wonder he obeyed my every command. I can give him what he deserves. More then what you could ever give him."

Logan flinched slightly, his mask starting to break as he looked at Roman.

"Lo? D-don't listen to him, ok? He's-"

"Right."

"W-what!? No-no Logan he's wrong!"

"No...I failed you Roman..."

"No Logan! Don't listen to him! This is what he wants!"

The anxious side smirked turning his gaze to Janus who kept a firm grip around Roman, trying to calm the prince.

"Oh JJ," he pushed himself from the wall taking slow steps closer to the pair, "Do you really think you have what it takes to protect him? I know your weaknesses. Your weak points. Every little thing that drives you mad. How to make you beg for it to stop. How to get exactly what I want from you."

"You know nothing anxiety."

"So harsh, I thought I was your little spider?"

He faltered again, "no..that died along time ago and you know it"

He hooked a finger under his chin, making him look at him, "I know you miss me, miss your precious spider who gave you everything. Filled your every need. Where did me cunning snake go? I want him back and I want his help dealing with my princess."

Janus flicked his gaze to Roman before back at Virgil, "I..."

"J..please no, I-I can't lose you too"

"Oh princess, you don't need them, you have me." He softly grabbed Janus hand, pulling it fairly easy off of Roman, "You don't need to worry any more dear, I'm here now."

Roman ducked under him going over to Logan, "Logan please! This isn't you! I know you know what he says isn't true! I love you Logan!"

Logan only stared at him, not saying anything. Roman teared up hugging Logan tightly.

"Please Logan!" He kissed him, hoping for something, anything.

He got nothing. He stared at Logan, tears rolling down his pale cheeks. A dark chuckle behind him made him remember why this was happening in the first place.

No. He remembered why they were here in the first place.

It was his fault.

He didn't wait.

He didn't listen to Patton.

He started the fire.

This was his fault.

And now he had to pay the price.

Roman looked at Logan again, "I love you...."

He didn't fight back when arms grabbed him. He didn't resist as he was pulled out of the kitchen and upstairs. He didn't say anything when the door shut and locked. He didn't look up when Virgil stood in front of him. He didn't say a word nor scream as he was beat for running away. He stared straight ahead as he was forced to sit in the corner, ankle chained to the wall. Dress torn, checks stained with tears. Bruises and blood caked his body as his hands shook.

This was his fate.

And he had to accept that.

For Logan.

For Janus.
