"I see, so you finally dumped that jerk?" Hawks' asks, eyes up at the night sky. "Yeah...it just...it wasn't working." Y/n sighs heavily. Hawks glanced down at her, he couldn't help but feel for her. She had been through a lot, and now a hard breakup. "Sounds like you need a break, huh?" He raised an eyebrow. "I wish..." Y/n said before shivering again. Hawks noticed this and removed his jacket, he then slipped it over her shoulders. Y/n looked up at him, his muscular arms and abdomen now more present with the loss of the heavy jacket.

She blushed and looked forwards, trying to not stare at him. "T-thank you." She murmured quietly. 'So warm...' Hawks grinned and turned his attention back to what was ahead.

The two had made it to Y/n's home, once inside, Y/n removed his jacket and handed it back to him. "Thank you for walking me home, and thanks again for the jacket." Hawks took it and slipped it back on. "No problem kid. Don't be afraid to give me a call if you're ever need my help again." He tells her. "B-but I don't have your-" She was cut off when he held out a slip of paper with his number on it. "Now you do." He gives her the slip and turns to leave. "See you later, kid." He waves with a wink before flying off.

That night, Y/n would lie awake in bed, Hawks' number still in hand. Despite the fact that she was tired, sleep would not find her. Her half lidded eyes glued to the slip in between her fingers, her mind replaying Hawks' kind words and gentle smile. A battle of whether it was right or wrong to feel the fluttering in her chest went down deep in her core. She had just met him, and yet she was feeling like this. Maybe it was because she had just had a heavy break up, or maybe it was because she craved that gentle touch. She craved the kindness she would rarely receive from Dabi, and the warmth she felt from Touya.

For once Y/n felt weightless, like she had nothing to worry for. And she couldn't get enough of it. She wanted more, but she couldn't be greedy. She couldn't hope for more than what she could be given. She had done that once, and look where it landed her.

But she deserved some happiness, she needed some happiness. For once, she prayed that she could be greedy, that she could hope for more. It was all she wanted.

"Please..."

Morning came sooner than she would have liked it to, it was her day off, but she just wanted to sleep. But having gotten use to waking up early and staying up for a certain amount of time, she had no choice but to drag herself out of bed. These days were a luxury, a lazy day was something to be savored.

She made herself her favorite comfort food and flopped down on the couch, turning on the TV and flipped through channel after channel. She had finally found something to watch, but after an hour or two, it was interrupted by a news broadcast. With a sigh of annoyance, she reached for the remote to change the channel.

"We interrupt this program for breaking news! The mysterious no name villain strikes once again!" Her movements stopped as she listened. "Three heroes were found dead at the scene of the crime, two bodies were mutilated beyond belief. Now over to Hiroko for more."

"Thank you Shiro, yesterday around 6 pm the no named villain appeared seemingly out of nowhere. When heroes arrived on the scene and engaged the villain, they were soon met with their demise. In latest news, video footage was recovered from a security camera near by." Y/n sat up quickly, eyes glued to the TV. "Now while the footage is a bit distorted, it is still quiet graphic, viewer discretion is advised."

Static filled footage was shown of the fight that went down that day, and just as told, the way the heroes were killed nearly made Y/n sick. She heard of his way of murdering heroes was disturbing, but seeing it like this was just...The footage ended just as Y/n turned away from the screen. "We are now getting word in that the League of Villains were there at the scene as well. Suspicions of the two working together, may be true. Now we take you on the scene with pro hero Hawks."

Hawks appeared on screen, an intense look in his golden eyes, all seriousness in his tone as he spoke. "What happened yesterday was a tragedy, one that will not be repeated. Whoever you are...you've made it clear what your goal is. But it will not be reached, because I am going to hunt you down, and when I find you...your rein of terror will come to an end once and for all!"

Y/n subconsciously smiled at his confident words. She believed in those words, she believed in Hawks.

He wasn't the number 2 hero for nothing, right?
