Chapter 17: Plan

Ellise's POV 

"So Nathan.. is it a deal?" tanong ni Nyx kaya hinawakan ko ang kamay ni Nathan dahil natatakot ako sa maaaring sagot niya. Ngunit nagulat ako noong binitawan niya ang aking kamay at humakbang papalapit kay Nyx. 

Hihilahin ko sana siya ngunit biglang nag-glitch ang buong paligid at ang kasunod na nangyari ay nasa bahay na ako. Hawak ko ang aking phone at ramdam kong nasa akin ang point of view. 

Scene 

"Hi sweetie!" my mom said na may halong sweet tune sa kanyang voice. 

Urgh what does she want na naman sa akin? 

"Hey mom" walang ganang saad ko. 

"I just received a copy of your midterm grades from your school. And.." she said kaya I know na where this is heading... 

"And why are you still the top 2 in your class? Hindi ba madaling talunin si Arianna ha? Your ate Chloe nga became the class valedictorian last year. That woman had a bright future pero sinayang niya lang din dahil gusto niyang magpursue sa modelling. I told her to go to a law school pero sinayang niya lang ito. What did I do to have  two daughters who always disappoint me. My God!---" I know she's still talking pero I immediately ended the call. 

Our mom was never satisfied sa aming dalawa ni ate. We were never enough for her. She's always disappointed to us kasi she has high expectations din. And I'm so sick of it! Urgh! 

I tossed my phone sa bed at nag-inat. Ang early ng breakfast ko, sama ng loob urgh 

I was about to head out of my room pero biglang binuksan ni dad ng napakalakas ang aking door. 

"Daddy!" pangiting saad ko but he did not look happy at all. 

"What were you thinking! You should've joined the family trip ng mga Octavion. I couldn't join dahil may business trip ako but you could've!" bungad ni daddy sa akin. 

Oh great... another disappointment. Greaaaat.. 

"Dad you forgot to knock--" 

"Don't change the topic Ellise! Ang tigas tigas ng ulo mo. Kung nandito lang sana si Chloe eh di sana siya ang pina-enggage ko kay Zed--" 

I couldn't help but slap my dad. Yes, sinampal ko si dad. And I regretted it... 

"But ate Chloe is not here na diba? And why is that?? DAHIL SA PAGPRESSURE NIYO SA KANYA. SHE COULDN'T HANDLE BOTH YOU AND MOM KAYA NAGLAYAS SIYA. PASALAMAT KA NGA AT NANDITO PA AKO SA SIDE MO BECAUSE I PITY YOU" I said and left. Doon ko lang naramdaman ang pagtulo ng aking mga luha. I immediately wiped it off at pumasok sa loob ng sasakyan.
