We head out the door and I see that Elijah is waiting in the car, a freaking Rolls Royce Cullinan. Named after the Cullinan diamond, the largest diamond ever found. I have only ever seen these cars in the fancy luxury car magazines that Giorgio has lying around in his mansion. The mansion that he took my sister to live in with the sole purpose of controlling her life.
My sister had tricked me into moving out of the house after mom died under the disguise of renovating and renting out a part of it to get an income. Then I while I was away at school I found out Giorgio's goons started living there. They were using it as a base for storing large sums of cash and other drugs relate activities.
To say I was pissed was to put it lightly, I didn't leave college the entire semester after I found out. I couldn't stand the sight of my sister because it was hard to believe she had gone so far down the dark path. Plus, I didn't like the thought of living under Giorgio's roof, but I also couldn't leave them alone.
I couldn't abandon Abby; she was young she needed an adult around. It was a miracle Tom turned out well, considering what he had as role models / parents. Eventually, I started going back there to make sure the kids were ok; they were the only family I had.
Noah opened the car door for us, then he sat in the front seat beside Elijah.
"What do you guys want to have for breakfast?" he says.
"Take us anywhere there are pancakes" I say and Tom shouts "yeeaahhh!".
There were only three things in this world that got Tom this excited that's superhero movies, video games and pancakes.
"Ok pancakes it is" Eli says with a smile as we pull out of the driveway.
A few minutes later we pull up outside of a diner, Noah got out and walks over to my side and open the door.
The hostess walks over to us, she greets Noah by name, and I hear the familiarity in her voice, a flirtatious tone. She looks over at me dismissively and then she eyes the kids and says, "is everyone sitting together?".
She holds on to Noah's biceps looking at him and smiling then says, "it is so good to see you, I haven't seen you in these parts for a while".
Who is she, is she someone he dated? The way she talks to him touching him, it's like she wants me to know she has or had some claim over him.
The overwhelming urge to punch her right in the nose clouds my mind and I don't know, where this rage is coming from? As much as I despised Michelle, I never felt this much rage when I saw her with Alex. Who have I become?
Eli looks at me and he has a ridiculous smile plastered over his face.
I had to say something I could stand quietly and watch anymore, "are we here to watch you flirt or are we here to eat?" I hiss.
Then I turned to the hostess and say in a harsher tone than I intended "may we have a table please. The rest of us would like to sit and have breakfast!"
Noah is smirking, Abby is side eyeing me, Tom is looking up at me and Eli smile is even even more ridiculous.
The hostess looks astonished, then she puts on a fake smile and says "of course, this way please".
Noah bows his head and says, "after you milady" gesturing with his hand for me to walk ahead of him. I walk away still reeling with the kids in tow. We get to the table, and I am still riled up.
"Taylor wants to go shopping after breakfast, let's do that first, then we can go on the river".
He is already staring at me when I look up from the menu.
