CHAPTER 38 - WALNUT CREEK

The guards pull up beside us in the driveway then got out their car and open the doors for us. I take Tom out of the car, and we head inside the house. The guards remove our bags from the car and bring them inside for us.

"Ms. Cambridge, if you need us, I will be at the front door and Jay will be at the back" Andrew says.

"Thank you, Andrew, I'm sorry you guys have to do this" I say awkwardly.

"No sorry needed Ms. Cambridge the Alpha wouldn't have recommended it if he didn't think it was necessary" Andrew smiles warmly at me, then nod his head and take his leave.

As I put each of our luggage in our individual rooms it occurs to me that we need to go shopping. The kids will need school supplies and the house still needs a few items to make it homier. Within two hours of our arriving two huge truck drive up with our furniture. Andrew takes my car keys so that he could remove the vehicles from the driveway, to give the furniture truck needed access to unload.

I make a mental note to thank Noah for the guards, as it turns out I really needed the help. The guys packed the furniture where I needed each box to make unpacking much easier. There was a lot of work that needed to be done to get the place looking presentable, but we have time. We were going to turn this place into the home that we deserve. A home that the kids will be safe from, the kind of hazard that Giorgio brought into our lives.

It didn't occur to me how late it had gotten until I noticed outside getting dark, and the children reminded me that we haven't eaten since we left the Inn. I haven't heard from Noah since he called me after 8 this morning about the guard situation, so I call him.

"Hi baby, is everything ok?" he answers the phone.

"Yes, everything is fine, I hope I'm not disturbing anything" I respond.

"No, you are not, did you want something? I am about to wrap up this meeting and be home soon" Noah says.

"Um, will you be staying at your house at Walnut Creek tonight" I ask, a part of me disappointed, I was hoping I would see him tonight. Although maybe it's for the better, the house is a mess.

He pauses on the line for a few seconds then responds, "only if you will be there with me, Taylor".

I clear my throat then and say "so you will be staying here tonight? The house isn't quite in order yet and I don't want you to be uncomfortable."

As if the response were at the tip of his tongue, he responds "if you will be staying there tonight, then that's where I will be staying tonight as well, end of story".

"Ok cool. Anyway, I am going to order pizza the kitchen isn't ready yet and I need to do some shopping. Will you be hungry when you arrive? I can order extra for you if you want."

"No baby, I'll be alright, there is only one thing I want to eat when I get home and it won't be cold left-over pizza"?

"Ok well the quicker I get off the phone the quicker your meeting will be over" I say and smile, while squeezing my legs to calm my libido.

"Ok, baby I'll see you when I get home, I love you baby" he says and I respond, "I love you too Noah."

The area was new to us so naturally finding a decent pizza place would be tricky. Andrew recommend 'Walcreek Brick Oven pizza' he says it's the best in town. We called up and ordered 3 large pizzas, one for me and the kids to share. I figured that if these guys eat half as much as Noah and Elijah does then, they could destroy at least one large each.

Half an hour later the pizza arrives, Abby and I go to the door to receive them. I open the door and a teenage boy is standing at the door with three pizzas. I pay him and he accepts the money then says, "welcome to the neighborhood, I am Mathew, my friends call me Matt".

I smile at him a sincere smile and say "thank you Mathew, it's nice to meet you. I'm Taylor, this is my sister Abby, and my son Tom is inside. I would shake your hand, but my hands are full". He looks at me then at Abby who is quiet until she says, "thank you for delivering the pizza, Mathew, pleasure". Then she walks back further inside the house.

Awkwardly I say to Mathew "my sister, she doesn't warm up to strangers easily"

"That's ok Ms. Taylor enjoy your pizza it's the best pie in town" he says.

"So I've heard. Ok have a good night, Mathew" I respond. I take the pizza to the kitchen then give the two meat lovers pizza, to the guards. I had to convince them to have the pizza otherwise it would go bad and there was no way the kids and I could eat all that food.

The kids and I had a plain cheese pizza, and it was divine, they weren't kidding about this pizza. I had three large slices and the kids went to town on the rest of the pie. After we were done eating, we sat around for a bit and chat. I was so overwhelmed with joy because of how exited they were about this place. We were already making plans to go hiking up the river trail and possibly go swimming.

After our meal was done digesting, we continue to arrange the furniture all by ourselves. What good is having two large guards all the time if they can't help with shit, I think to myself. Abby and I were pushing furniture around when the door open. Noah walks in with Eli in tow, eyes scanning the room and looking over all the furniture.

"Are you two arranging all the furniture by yourselves?" Noah says while looking at me.

"Well, hello there, captain obvious has entered the building" I say sarcastically, and he chuckles. He came over to me and kissed me chastely then greets the kids. Eli as usual nods and smiles at me and then he greeted the kids. I didn't realize how close Eli and kids were, the three of them started chatting and laughing, 'how did I miss that?' I thought to myself.

"Why are the guards not allowed inside the house Noah?" I ask and he looks at me with a smirk.

"Because that's the rule! they don't need to be inside the house, Taylor" he says, in a matter a fact tone.

I folded my arms, nit my brows and say "well I needed the help with the furniture, and they wouldn't come inside. What good are they if when I need actual help they can't help, all because of your stupid moronic rule. It's my house I decide who comes in or out".

He comes closer to me and whispers "that's what you think" then he says out load so that everyone can hear "Eli and I are here now so you tell us where you want what and we will get it done."

Noah and Eli both take off their suit jackets, rolled up their sleeves then began moving furniture and boxes all around the house. They have worked nonstop since they started but showed no signs of stress or fatigue. These boys are robust, hot blooded and sexy men, but I was the queen bee, giving all the orders. By 1 AM all the furniture was unboxed and in their rightful place all over the house.

I went and retrieved the modem, that I received from Alex, and I handed it to Noah for him to set it up. He looked at the device then back at me and say, "what kind of operation do you have going on here Ms. Cambridge?".

I rolled my eyes at him then say "If I told you I would have to kill you" he raised his eyebrow and said "touché Ms. Cambridge, Touché ".

"I just want the kids to be safe when they are online". He takes the modem and proceeds to do his thing.

The kids were already sleeping in their rooms, and it was just the three of us in the living room cleaning up. Its almost 2 AM, I turn to Noah and say, "do you guys have work in the morning, don't you have to get some sleep".

Eli looks at his watch and says, "shit Katie is going to kill me" then he pulls out his phone as says, "I didn't remember to take my phone off silent after our meeting, she called me a hundred times, fuck!"

"Well, you should call her" I say, Eli walks outside while on his phone leaving Noah and I alone inside the house. Noah holds me by my waist and pulls me into his chest and giving me a wet open-mouthed kiss.
