The weekend runs off fast, When I woke up Monday morning Noah was gone, and I can't shake the feeling something is bothering him. Multiple times throughout the weekend I've caught him staring blankly into space. I would ask him, and he would insist all was well and I shouldn't worry.

The kids and I get dressed and load up the car, in fifteen minutes we are at the school. The school looks as almost as big as a college, I'm not even sure I'm, at the right place. We get inside the building showed my identification and told the receptionist that I had an appointment with the headmistress.

About ten minutes later a petite middle-aged woman with a bob haircut and glasses walks up and introduce herself as Headmistress Ivanov. I introduced myself and the kids, and she directs us to her office.

Headmistress Ivanov ordered us to sit and then she began speaking, "Ms. Cambridge, how do you like it here at Walnut Creek?"

"I, Um, it's been very good so far, thank you, the kids and I really love the place" I say.

"Good, that's great, welcome it's good to have you, I am sure you will find the place and most of the people to be quite welcoming and genteel" she says then turns her attention toward Tom and smiles.

"How about you Thomas what do you like most about Walnut" Tom looks at me and I nod, signaling to him that it's ok to tell her.

Tom looks back at the stern looking woman and say, "I love the river the most", she nods her head.

The woman turns to Abby and says, "what about you Abigale, I am sure you miss your friends back home, hmm!".

Abby looks the woman squarely in the eyes and says confidently "Absolutely, but I am looking forward to meeting new friends here at Walnut Creek Academy" then smiles, my girl never disappoints.

"That, I am sure will happen. Ok let's get on with it then, shall we?" she turns back her attention to me and proceed. "Ms. Cambridge, for your son we will accept his birth certificate as proof of parentship status. For your sister Abigale I will need her birth certificate and proof of guardianship. For both children I will need previous school transcript, if you do not have those then we will allow one week to turn them in. Will you have any problems getting these?"

"No, I won't" I respond.

"Ok good. The children will both need to do an aptitude test so we can properly place them where they will be appropriately nurtured. If they are not up to their grade level do not worry, Walnut Academy will ensure that they progress soon. Depending on what the aptitude test reveal we will make an individualized study plan for Abigale and Thomas. Any questions?"

"Wow, it all sounds pretty straight forward. I have all the documents that you have requested here. I took the liberty to ask their previous schools for their transcripts." I say and hand her the fake documents that I received from Alex. "Also, I have the proof of guardianship here, both Abigale and my parents have died so now I am her legal guardian and here is Thomas' birth certificate. I think this is all, you need."

The headmistress collects the documents and look them over then says "wonderful, the children seem to be rounded academically. Do they do any extracurricular activities? Here at Walnut Creek Academy this a big part of our curriculum. Thomas and Abigale will need to take part in one or more of these activities"

"Um, they will be enrolled in a program once school begins" I say to the headmistress.

"Ok, good. The school will need a full physical assessment to be done for both children. I will give you the contact for our preferred physician. If all of this is clear and you are ready to register the children, I will give you a package for each child. I suggest you take the packages home read them carefully then sign and return them within a week. Once you have signed then they are officially registered. At which time the aptitude test will be scheduled and administered, uniforms and badges will be issued at such time as well. Are we clear Ms. Cambridge?"

"Yes, perfectly clear. Ms. Ivanov wi..." she cuts me off mid-sentence and says, "Headmistress Ivanov, continue please".

I was taken a bit off guard, but I continue with a smile "apologies Headmistress Ivanov, may I ask how much the tuition will be or will that be included in the package?"

"Ms. Cambridge, education is tuition free for all residence of Walnut Creek. Parents don't have to worry about financing education at this level. College age is when you need to worry about such things".

"Oh, wow, that's great. Does the school cater to students who are a little too advanced for their grade level"?

"Rarely a student is too advance for his grade level at Walnut Creek Academy, Ms. Cambridge. You will find that our curriculum is quite advance, and some would say challenging. There are a handful of gifted students at the Academy, and we have a school for the gifted for those few students who qualify for such."

"What is the qualification process like as you can see from their school transcript, Tom and Abby are above their grade level and...?" she cuts me off again.

"One step at a time Ms. Cambridge, no need to worry about such things, hmm? Let's start at step one. Now if there is nothing else, I will see you in a week" she says with a smile, and I am not sure what to make of it she seems like a strict Headmistress.

"Thank you, Headmistress Ivanov, I will get these to you before the end of the week." I say motioning to the paperwork for Tom and Abby.

"Ok Ms. Cambridge Walnut Creek Academy looks forward to welcoming Abigale and Thomas."

She walks to the door and opens it signaling that we are dismissed. We leave and I decide to take the kids school shopping in town and while we were there made appointment to see the physician. After lunch we walked around the town a little bit before we got back inside the car and drove home.
