It's the week of Thanksgiving and I am working only three days this week. A lot of doctors are out this week and Jan wants us to keep a close eye on admissions and the number of doctors on duty and those who are on call. Since its Thanksgiving, a lot of staff are out taking vacation it's vital that all areas are covered, and the hospital runs smoothly.
Today has been hectic, meetings all morning and we still have a few more on the calendar to attend. Jan and I went for lunch at 1 pm, as usual, then she asked me if I have ever been to the river head. I told her yes, a few times but then she asked me the strangest thing "how did you feel after?"
"Well, what do you mean?" I asked her.
"Oh um, nothing just that most people say they feel different after they go to the riverhead" she says while eyeing me suspiciously.
"May I sit here ladies?" says a handsome young male doctor who looks to be in his late twenties.
He looks at me then smiles and Jan responds "oh, hi Sabastian, of course you can sit."
"Sabastian have you met Taylor? She's the new Assistant Administrator".
Sabastian holds out his hand to shake mine and says, "good to meet you Taylor, I hope you will enjoy your time here".
"Thank you, Sabastian," and he holds on to my hand way too long before I pull away from him.
We all eat our lunches and make small talk then we walked back to work as we are walking back to the hospital Jan gets a call on her cell and stops to take the call.
Sabastian and I walked away to give her privacy "so Taylor, how do you like it here, has Jan been treating you well?" Sabastian says.
"It's been great, I absolutely love it here and Jan has been great actually" I say.
He nods and says, "that's great".
"So, what kind of doctor are you Sabastian?" I asked.
"I do cosmetic surgery" he says.
"Is that why you are so pretty" I say to him, and we both laugh at my silly remark.
"Well thanks for thinking I'm pretty but nah, that's genetics. I work on other people." We continue to walk and talk until Jan caught up with us. Soon, we are back at the office and Sabastian goes back to work.
When I get back to my desk and check my phone, I see a text from Noah 'how was lunch? I hope you enjoyed the food.'
I text back 'lunch was great, did you have lunch yet, babe?'
In quick succession I receive a text back "I don't like you walking on the street talking to other men"
Of course, the guards told him, I say to myself as I text him back "he's a doctor here at the hospital he sat with Jan and me for lunch now calm down. I have to go back to work talk to you later xoxo". I send the message and put the phone away inside my bag.
NOAH'S POV
I'm sitting at my desks, and I get a message from Ragan the head guard who oversees protecting Taylor and the kids, when Andrew is unavailable. He sends me a picture of Taylor walking with a man on the streets of Walnut Creek.
Sebastian Andrianakis is no threat, he's a childhood friend, we grew up together, he is from a prominent family of doctors from my pack. Good kid but still I don't want any fucking man getting too close with my woman. It doesn't matter who it is, all men want one thing from beautiful women and Taylor is the quintessence of beautiful women.
