CHAPTER 17

Azrael was ready to strangle Chael for always putting him on the spot. He doesn't really mind if it's anyone else but it's always with the freaking nun.

Here he is trying to avoid her because of the feelings she's drawing out from him.

After loading the things she'll be bringing back to the church, he opened up the door for her. Natigilan siya nang lumapit ito at may pinagpag sa balikat niya.

He caught a whiff of her scent as she moved close to him. All he could do was watch her. She was much more beautiful up close. Her sun-kissed skin glowed under the sun. Her brown eyes looked into his before she backed off.

Pumasok na ito kaya nagising na rin siya. He was shaking his head as he walked around to get in his car.

"I'm sorry for the way I acted last night." Sabi niya nang magsimula na siyang magmaneho.

She was silent but when he looked at her she was just nodding.

"It's a difficult topic for me." He said honestly. It was true. Family has always been a difficult topic for him.

"Naiintindihan ko. Hindi kita pipilitin na mag-kuwento. Pasensiya na kung dahil sa akin-"

"It's not your fault. I brought it up."

"Pero kahit na."

He smiled at her to assure her. He doesn't want her worrying. "Don't be bothered by it okay? Saka, para saan ba iyung mga dadalhin natin?" Pag-iiba niya ng topic.

"May susubukan kami ni Chael na mga variety ng halaman at gulay na patubuin."

"You like planting?"

She nodded.

He didn't find it surprising but it was also unexpected. "Do you need help?"

She smiled. "Marunong ka bang magtanim?"

"No. But I can help you with anything else. Just tell me what to do."

She just smiled again until they got to the church. He dropped off the materials and asked her what he can do.

Sabi nito at kailangan nito ng magbubungkal sa lupa.

"Okay lang ba sa iyo na magbungkal ng naka-ganyan?"

He looked at his outfit. He was wearing a suit and tie. It was unusual but that will do. "I'm still clothed. That should be fine."

Natawa ito ng bahagya bago siya tinuruan kung paano ang gagawin. He started working already so she left him to do the work. 30 minutes later, nagsisisi na siya kung bakit hindi na lang siya nagpalit ng damit.

So Azrael ended up finishing the job and is now sitting in the gazeebo. Naipaghanda naman siya ni Nyx ng meryenda bilang pasasalamat daw.

She changed into something more comfortable. A shirt and a dark colored skirt that reached her mid-thigh.

She went in to the field and started planting the seedlings. He was just watching her. She was a natural. He can see how passionate she is in what she's doing. Napaka-tutok ng atensiyon nito sa ginagawa.

He can do this all day. Just watch her from afar.

He shook his head. She is still a woman of the church. Kung siya lang marahil, he was willing to sin but if it will also affect Nyx, hindi yata kaya ng konsensya niya.

Kailan ba siya naging ganito? Kailan ba siya nagkaroon ng pakialam sa ibang tao?

Bumalik ang atensiyon niya kay Nyx na abala pa rin sa pagtatanim. Compared to his previous women companions, she looked...ordinary.
