CHAPTER 56

A year into their marriage, Azrael realized that whatever he feared about commitment before, was just something he made up in his mind.

His wife, Nyx, is his greatest blessing. She visits the farm twice a month and most of the time, she stays at the club or in Manila with him. She prepares his breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She manages the house very well. On top of that, she also manages the business transactions of their farm.

She's an amazing woman he has always known that. 

Ngayon ay kababalik lang nila galing sa Amsterdam kung saan sila nag-bakasyon para sa first year anniversary nila.

He is looking at his wife now in their bed, early in the morning. He was waiting for her to wake up. Sa tagal niyang nakakatabi itong matulog, mas madalas siyang nauunang nagigising. Pabor iyon sa kanya dahil pwede pa niyang tignan ng asawa bago magsimula nanaman ang busy na araw niya.

When his wife stirred awake, before she could greet him good morning, nakahawak na ito sa bibig nito at dumiretso sa banyo. Naabutan niya itong nagsusuka sa toilet. He held up her hair.

"Are you okay my fairy? Ilang araw ka ng ganyan."

Umiling ito. "May nakain lang siguro."

"Can you promise me to have yourself checked at the clinic? I'm worried about you. Sasamahan kita-"

She shook her head frantically. "Ako na lang. Busy ka today 'di ba? Nakita ko iyung calendar mo. Naipon lahat ng appointments mo dahil sa bakasyon."

"Here you are vomiting yourself to death, and you think about my meetings."

Tumayo ito at nag-mouthwash. Pagkatapos ay yumakap sa kanya. His heart melted right away. He embraced her back.

"Late kang natutulog mula noong umuwi tayo. Ayokong bawasan mo pa iyung oras mo sa trabaho. Nasa club naman ang clinic. Tatawagan ka naman nila kung maco-confine ako."

"Oh my fairy. What did I do to deserve you?"

"You believed, Azrael. You believed in Him."

He exhaled and looked at his wife's pale face. "Let me know when you get there okay?"

Tumango ito. "I'll prepare breakfast. Maligo ka na ha."

He nodded and kissed her temples.

May hinala na si Nyx kung anong nangyayari sa kanya. She's a few weeks delayed already from her period's schedule.

She wanted to make sure kaya ayaw niyang malaman ni Azrael ang hinala niya. 

When she got to the clinic, they performed basic tests on her to check everything. Sinabi niya kay Dra. Lunariss lahat ng nararamdaman niya nitong mga nakaraang araw.

"I have your results now, Nyx. Let's see..." Tumango-tango ito. "Your lab tests are all normal but..."

Kinabahan siya. But doesn't always mean good.

"Ano pong problema doktora?"

"There is a signifcant amount of hCG in your blood test. Human chorionic gonadotropin is a hormone produced by cells of a growing embryo. Do you know what it means if even have the slightest trace of hCG?"

Umiling siya. 

"That means you are pregnant. We also performed the pregnancy test using urine and the two solid red lines are as clear as it can be."

Tila hindi niya pa naiintindihan ang sinasabi ng doktor. She hander her the lab results and the pregnancy test result.

"I-I'm pregnant..." She said absentmindedly.
