CHAPTER 30

The cafe was brightly lit with floor to ceiling glass windows and white and yellow interiors. 

Hindi pa nakabawi si Nyx sa gulat nang makita si Azrael ulit. She now knew why the company sounded familiar. 

He still looked handsome like the last time she saw him. His hair was a bit longer now but still disheveled as usual. His black suit fitted his form well. Bumagay rin dito ang stubbles nito. His scent filled in her nostrils back in the elevator and in the car.

She missed riding beside him. She missed talking to him. She missed him. Pero hindi niya ipapakita iyon rito.

He doesn't know he's the reason why she left sisterhood. She realized that her heart belongs to someone new now. Si Azrael ang nagpatibok sa puso niya ulit.

From the moment she left the club, she knew she might not see him again. Hindi nga siya nito hinanap. He has friends who've been in their farm.

Pero heto nga sila ulit. In their real world. Malayo sa club. Hindi na rin siya madre ngayon.

After ordering some drinks, they smiled at each other. Bakit ba ang awkward nilang dalawa? They were close. Well..in her standards.

"So you own a farm. I should have known back at the club. You were good with plants." Sabi nito sa kanya.

He pulled his tie lightly as if he's suffocated.

"Oo. Mula bata pa ako sa bukid na ako lumaki. Kaya ako kumuha ng agriculture and business courses noong college para ma-manage ko ng maayos ang farm namin." Ngumiti siya. "So eto, ako ang representative ng farm namin."

"You studied agriculture and business?"

Tumango siya. "Sabi ni Inang ko, maraming magsasaka ang naloloko at nalulugi sa mga bentahan kasi hindi nila napag-aralan kung paano ba dapat ang bigayan. Hindi na ako nagulat noong sinabi ni Clyde na maraming  farms ang tumanggi sa kanya. Maraming farms ang gusto na manatili sa tradisyunal na pagsasaka. Iyung iba naman, dahil kumikita naman sila sa bagsakan, hindi na nila kailangan ng tulong ng ibang mga kumpanya. Mayroon na rin iyung mga niloko ng malalaking korporasyon."

"So what made you take up our offer?"

"Research. Interested talaga akong pag-aralan ang mga bagong halaman. Kaya masaya talaga ako sa proyekto namin ni Chael noon. Bukod doon, tutulungan niyo ang kooperatiba namin na makabenta ng mas marami. Nasabi rin ni Clyde na nagfa-fund kayo ng small scale farms." She smiled at him. "I didn't know you had it in you."

He smirked. "I wonder where you got that impression."

She shook her head. Masaya siya dahil kahit papaano, wala na ang tensiyon sa pagitan nila.

Buti na lang at dumating na ang mga inumin nila. She had something to keep her hands busy on.

"The club misses you."

Napatigil siya sa pag-inom nang marinig ito. When she looked up, he was looking away.

"Tabi misses you. Chael took care of your little garden. He made sure you'll see the fruits of your labor."

"Sila lang ba?" Talaga ba Nyx? Anong gusto mong isagot niya? Pati siya na-miss ka?

"Well, there's Rizky, Amara, Savannah and her twins. Even Carrie."

"Ah..." She nodded. She was a bit disappointed that he didn't include himself.

"I did."

Napabuga siya ng iniinom nang marinig iyon. He helped wipe some of the drink off her face. Kakahiya! Hindi naman halata na hinihintay mo sabihin na pati siya.
