CHAPTER 23

Nagilingunan ang lahat sa function hall sa lalaking tumayo. He was not a member. Mukhang hindi rin ito empleyado. He might be a guest of a member.

"And you are?" Tanong ni Carrie.

He was already fisting his hands.

"I'm Alwin Esguerra."

"Oh the nephew of Mrs. Esguerra. Now, what is this you're telling us about?"

"Iyung bagong madre at isa sa mga members ng club ninyo ay may relasyon!"

The room gasped at the same time. Silence followed. 

So this is the guy. This is the guy that he will gladly strangle to death.

"I know Sister Nyx personally. Who is this member you're talking about?"

"Si Azrael Iglesias! May ebidensya ako!"

"What is this lunatic talking about?" Bulong ni Thunder sa kanya.

"I don't know. But what I know is he'll never see the light of the day again."

"These are serious accusations especially it concerns one of the members and one person of the church."

Pilit na pinipigilan ni Mrs. Esguerra ang pamangkin nito pero ayaw papigil. He even went in front and stood beside Carrie.

May nilabas itong flash drive. "I have proof."

Kinuha iyon ng isa sa mga staff. The projector was on and everyone can see the pictures. Those were pictures of them walking together, talking with each other, smiling at each other. Kahit iyung minsan na niyakap siya nito. They were suggestive in a way. Nakahinga siya kahit papaano dahil hindi nito nakunanan ng litrato noong halikan niya ito. There were pictures of him carrying her at the clinic though.

He always made sure to maintain distance from her when they are together. Ito na nga ang iniiwasan niya. 

"Tignan niyo! Gawain ba iyan ng alagad ng simbahan?"

Silence loomed over the room. Nabasag lang iyon nang itaas ni Chael ang kamay nito.

"Bakit wala kaming pictures ni Sister Nyx? Lagi rin naman kaming magkasama. Nilibre ko pa nga siya ng dinner."

Sumunod naman dito si Rizky. "Same. I enjoyed walking with her. I even ate with her at the cafe while asking for advice."

"I talked to her earlier too. She's really good at giving advices." Sabi ni Gov. Kylo.

"Bakit nasa simbahan ng maaga si Azrael at nagdidilig? Doon siya natulog sa mismong cottage ng madre!" Sabi pa rin ng lalaki.

"Ah, joint project namin ni Sister Nyx iyon. Nasa clinic siya noon kaya sabi ko kay Azrael na diligan niya ang mga halaman namin ni Sister."

Napatingin siya kay Chael. He went there on his own. What are they talking about?

"Azrael brought her to the clinic after losing consciousness. Anybody will do it for the nun given the circumstances." Sabi ni Lake.

"Where did you get these pictures anyway? Why do you have them?" Tanong ni Winter.

"Ah...sa phone ko na-picturan. Napansin ko kasi na lagi silang magkasama."

Hiningi ni Winter and telepono. He even threatened to cancel the sponsor's membership if he won't give it. Winter scanned through and he was shaking his head.

"Do you like the nun Mr. Esguerra? There are pictures of her kahit mag-isa siya. You do know there's a law against this. You can't take pictures without their permission."
