King Ragnar & his second wife, Queen Aslaug rule over the village of Kattegat, Norway. His first wife was legendary shield maiden, Lagertha, who is set to marry Earl Kalf. Being King, Ragnar has many affairs. Only one has lasted long. Týra has been his mistress for nearly ten years. She was named after the Norse god of War & Justice, Týr.

Týra was sixteen when she began her affair with Ragnar, while he was still married to Lagertha. Lagertha saw her potential & trained her to be a shield maiden. One winter morning, she teaches the village children archery lessons.

But the sound of the horn is heard throughout the village, signaling an arrival which interrupts the lesson. Ragnar, Floki, Rollo & their men have come back from their voyage. Everyone heads to the shore to greet them. Týra smiles at Ragnar as their eyes meet. Floki & his wife, Helga, kiss. Rollo walks over to Týra & hugs her.
"Do not make it obvious in front of Aslaug", he whispers. They pull away, she smiles & nods. She looks over to them sees Ragnar & Aslaug kissing.

She walks away to gather the children & goes back to teaching the kids for a little while longer. Once the children are done for the day, Týra goes home. Soon after arriving home, there's a knock on the door. She walks over & opens it.
"Ragnar? What are you doing here? If Aslaug sees us..."
"Sshh", he says placing his cold hand over her mouth. They walk in & he closes the door. He immediately grabs her face, kissing her as he walks her over to her bed.
