Derek & Y/N have been dating a year & also live together. They were introduced by her best friend, Penelope Garcia, who works with Derek in the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit. There was an immediate attraction between them. So smitten with her, he asked her out the day they met & the rest is history. He loved her bubbly attitude & also how intelligent she is. She loved his goofiness & flirtatious personality.
They're both on vacation for ten days. She's on the couch with a cup of coffee, watching some TV while he takes a shower. Soon, he gets out & she hears him on the phone. He comes out of the bathroom a few minutes later with a towel around his hips. His body is glistening. She can't help but bite her lip as she stares at his muscle definition.
"Work just called me", he says. "Please don't tell me you're going in." "I'm sorry, baby girl but they need me to consult on this case."

"But we're on vacation, D..." "I know. I'm sorry but I don't want to fight with you on this", he says cutting her off. She takes a deep breath. "Fine. Go but you better not be long." "I can't promise anything. But I'll try to make it quick." He goes to the bedroom, dries off then gets dressed. Afterwards, he comes over to her. She's pouting & crosses her arms over her chest.
"Baby girl, don't be like that. I'll make it quick & when I get back I'm all yours." "Fine." She grabs his face & kisses him deeply. "I love you", he says pulling away. "I love you too." He grabs his keys then leaves. A couple of hours later, he calls her. She answers quickly.
"Hey baby girl." "Hi." "I need you to do me a favor." "Sure. What do you need?" "It's Garcia's birthday." "Oh shit. I completely forgot." "Me too. Can you buy her a cake & bring it here?" "Of course." "Thanks, baby. I love you." "I love you too."
They hang up & Y/N rushes to get dressed. She dresses in tight jeans, a navy blue crop top & gym shoes. She grabs her purse, keys & phone then rushes out the door. She gets into her car & drives to Penelope's favorite bakery. When she arrives almost thirty five minutes later, Y/N gets out & buys a sheet cake. Afterwards, she goes to the nearest Walgreens to pick up balloons & a card then drives to the FBI building.
When she arrives, she parks in the parking garage. She steps out & sees a familiar face walking towards the elevator. "Reid. Can you help me, please?" "Sure." He comes over & takes the cake while she takes the balloons. "Thanks." "No problem", he replies smiling. They take the elevator up to the BAU floor.
"Sorry that we dragged him away." "You should be but I get it", she chuckles. The doors open & they step out together. They come across Penelope & she shouts, "Happy birthday bestie!" Penelope smiles & they hug.
"Thank you." Penelope is handed the card, balloons & they all wish her a happy birthday. They cut the cake & Derek gestures for Y/N to come to him. She walks over with a smirk.
