CHAPTER THIRTEEN |
get happy

***

JASON HAD ALWAYS LOVED THE Christmas season. There was something about the cheer in the air, the decorations hanging on trees and the smiles on a child's face when they met Santa at the mall. Mostly he loved the innocence of it--how you could revert back to the simplest time in life and just have fun. Jason missed childhood a bit too much now he realized just how fast he'd grown up. And now the holidays were around, he was certain it was going to be the best one yet.

At least that was until Sebastian opened his mouth instead of just kissing him.

"My mom wants to meet you." Sebastian says almost nonchalantly as Jason is sucking a hickey into his collarbone.

Jason lifts his head in a mixture of confusion and surprise, pulling away from his assault on Sebastian's skin and instead sitting up in his lap.

"What the hell are you talking about?" he asks.

Sebastian leans up on his elbows. "Exactly what I said. Mom wants to meet you."

"Why would she want to meet me? How does she even know who I am?" Jason's brows furrow together with frustration.

Sebastian shrugged. "I told her about you."

"Why?" Jason draws out, glancing at his counterpart with worry.

"Because I like you, for some reason. And we spend like every day together."

Jason pushes himself out of Sebastian's lap, suddenly feeling sick at the feeling of being pressed against him. Nothing killed a boner faster than someone bringing up meeting the parents to someone they weren't dating.

"Hold on - you're not my boyfriend. I-I love Kurt. You know that." Jason explained, sitting on the edge of the bed as he kept direct eye contact.

Sebastian frowned, sitting up in his bed and grabbing Jason's hand to pull him close again, but the other boy refused, yanking his hand away. "Baby, you need to get over him. He's in love with Blaine. You know that."

"Why do I need to get over him, Bas? So I can be with you?" Jason retorts, scoffing at the thought.

Sebastian pulls away with a glare. "Why is that such a bad thing? At least I'm available."

"I don't want you, Sebastian. I want him."

Sebastian rebuts, "Well he doesn't want you."

"Fuck you, Sebastian." Jason spat, picking his shirt up and throwing it back on so he could leave. He didn't feel wanted here anymore and he wasn't ready to face the truth yet either.

Blaine was laying on his bed now that winter break was in effect for both of them. He raised his head as he watched Jason slouching with a grimace on his face. He placed his laptop now and sat up to talk to his friend. Lately, their friendship had been better than it had been in a long time. He knew things really started to go downhill when they met Kurt, but now Jason wasn't letting his feelings for Kurt come between them and he was grateful.

"What's wrong with you?" Blaine asked, nudging the other boy's shoulder.

Jason looked up with a blank stare, shrugging his shoulders. "Me and Sebastian got in a fight and my mom just invited him and his mom to our Christmas party."

"Ouch," Blaine frowned. "What did you fight about?"

Jason tensed. He knew he couldn't mention that they fought about Kurt, so he decided to just leave that detail out. "Just that he wanted to be official and I don't."
