Once again, rumors spread. But this time, the rumors told a more realistic story: you and Jisung had broken up. The reason? Not so true, still, but everyone still insisted that Jisung had never really moved on from Juyeon and ended up cheating on you with her.
Jisung hadn't gone back to class that afternoon. He was too afraid to face Hyunjin, and too ashamed to face Changbin. He knows the latter also has feelings for you, and if he knows how much Jisung had hurt you, Jisung can only imagine how upset the boy must be with him.
He was also rather afraid to face Juyeon. Or rather anyone in school. So he ended up cutting classes just to avoid everyone.
Meanwhile, after that scene you had created with Jisung at the doorway of your classroom, you just couldn't bare to look anyone in the eye. You even avoided your friends who kept on trying to find ways to make you feel better. And by the time classes ended, you were just left alone, standing at the entrance of the school building, looking out into the open.
"Listen. Y/N. If you ever feel like you need someone... just give us a call, yeah?"
Denise had told you those words before your friends finally decided to give you some space. Now that you had said space, however, you suddenly feel like you actually need someone. Is it someone specific, however? You're just not sure.
You suddenly find your hand reaching into your pockets into your phone, but as soon as you open your contacts, you freeze at the first phonetic name you see:
[Jisung💖]
As always, you were never one for pet names, so his name on your phone had just stayed like that after you had changed it. But as you stare at it, you're contemplating whether you should just delete his number or just keep it but block it.
After a few seconds, you just end up renaming it.
[Han Idiot]
You typed those letters while feeling like one yourself, and then you're hit by a strange sense of deja vu. Didn't this happen before? This feeling of being an idiot. You know it's happened before. Only that time, it was you giving Jisung advice on how to confess to Juyeon.
You regret it now. The feeling of guilt and pain mix inside you, and your grip around your phone tightens as your blame is suddenly directed onto yourself. "This is my fault. I'm the idiot."
A sigh then escapes you as you just turn your phone off and drop your hand to your side, soon looking up at the sky just as you hear footsteps from behind you.
"Y/N? You're still here?" you hear that familoar voice ring out behind you, and your eyes widen before you quickly compose yourself then turn to the newcomer, wearing a smile on your face soon after.
"Ah, Chan-sunbaenim. How are you? It's been quite a while since I saw you," you tell him in the usual friendly tone you use when you talk to him.
Chan returns a smile, only for his smile to fade when he notes how yours seems rather sad a second later. He then looks at you with concerned eyes, and you look away from him, eventually letting your smile fade since you know he's already seen through you. Chan just walks over to your side, the both of you later on just looking ahead. "Yes, it has been a while since you came to the music room..."
Silence takes over for a while, then Chan speaks again. "By the way, how's your tutoring Changbin?"
"It's going well," you reply. "He's actually doing really great that by next semester, he might just jump straight to Class 1." You chuckle as you think about it, and Chan lightly laugh along. And then, a sigh escapes you just as you remember something.
