The basement was full, loud, and bustling of all different kinds of people with only one goal in mind: to win the rap battles going on in this place.

This was just a usual occurence around this area, though not really known much to the general public. At least once a week, an underground rap battle would be held, and anyone who's willing to try it out and showcase their skills can join in and maybe get a chance to win and get recognition among the people of this community.

And one of them... is Changbin. This time, his friends had also joined in, and by friends, that would mean Jisung, Felix, and Hyunjin. Of course, around this time, Changbin was still a grade level higher than them since he hadn't repeated yet, but that still doesn't save him from being in Class 3.

Either way, it really can't be helped for him to almost always be found in these kinds of events. It's already become a part of his life, after all. And he's already gotten too used to it to stop all of a sudden at one point. Guess you could even say he had become addicted, so much that it would affect his grades and eventually cause him to repeat. But that's a different story.

The story right now, however... is one where you may or may not have almost been caught by the four friends in one of these events.

Yet another battle has ended, and the audience cheers at the results. The winner stays on the stage, and another challenger comes up on stage. And as that challenger comes up, Jisung notices something about them.

"Woah! The challenger is a girl!" he exclaims with his hand over his mouth, and all the other boys present with him hear him, all eventually turning to the stage to see a girl on stage indeed, wearing loose clothes, and her face hidden by the shadows caused by the rim of her black cap.

Felix then squints his eyes at her as he gets a feeling. "She kinda looks... familiar?"

His friends hear him, and quite obviously, they start asking questions.

"'Familiar'? How?" Hyunjin asks.

"I mean, I guess she does. Maybe this isn't her first time coming here?" Changbin suggests.

Meanwhile, Jisung just keeps staring at the girl, getting the same familiar feeling as Felix. Then, something sparks in his head, and his brows rise as a lightbulb lights up above his head. "Hey, isn't that-"

"Shh! They're about to start!" Hyunjin suddenly says, inadvertently causing Jisung to forget his idea in a second just as the two rappers on stage light up the stage with their own verses.

The girl was obviously winning, though. Her style was different, and she was spitting hot melted lava at her opponent like a volcano.

And Jisung couldn't help but exclaim in wonder at her performance. "Wow! She's pretty good!"

Changbin, meanwhile, sneers at her. "I bet I can beat her."

"Oh, yeah?" Hyunjin challenges with a sly smile as he places his elbow on the older boy's shoulder. "Why won't you challenge her then after this battle is over?"

Changbin raises a brow at him. "Are you even sure she'll win?"

"Of course, she'll win! Just look at her go!" Jisung exclaims like an excited child as he points towards the stage, and Changbin rolls his eyes before looking back.

"She is pretty good, though..." He thinks to himself, however. "Yeah, no doubt, she'll win."

The battle is over, and the challengers step back as the DJ-slash-announcer reveals the winner.
