Ch. 41: Dreams Come True

Aaaand we're back on track! Sorry for the last chapters... and hope y'all forgive me for this one, too hehe...

You smile as the newly-released song is played through your earphones, that familiar voice ringing through and rapping every lyric with what seems to be every emotion inside him.

Changbin had finally become a successful rapper, just like how he wanted to be. And his latest song "Streetlight", had been gaining a lot of attention recently.

It wouldn't be a surprise that it would grab your attention as well, however. Especially with how you've been following him as an artist since you've heard of his debut. And you eventually found yourself becoming even more and more impressed as you did. You can't help but wonder if he would win this time if you had a rap battle with him.

It is possible to do just that, though. After all, you're finally back in South Korea.

Your eyes light up and an excited expression clearly forms on your face as you look out the window and you finally see your home country in sight. It wouldn't be long until you land and you'll finally be able to consider yourself as having come back home.

Now why are you back in your home country, you ask? It's been eight years since you left, and well, even before you graduated from college, you had already secured a job as a universal song-writer and producer, writing songs for different artists and all. And as you did, you were actually waiting for something to eventually come before you finally decide to come back to South Korea, just as an excuse.

It came a week earlier.

Chan had finally found your account after all those years, and after some chatting, you had found out that he had started his own music company, STAY Entertainment, and that a few of your schoolmates had actually debuted under his company. And that would be, Seungmin, Felix, and of course, the one whose song you're listening to right now, Changbin.

Now the reason why he contacted you is (that is, other than to reconnect with you after all the time you've been gone) because yet another one of your schoolmates is set to debut, and you are asked to help in the production of his debut album.

Yang Jeongin. You were definitely not expecting him to want to become an artist. Well, he is already on his way to becoming one.

And seeing that two of your dear schoolmates are involved, how could you say no?

Seven days later, you had packed your bags, got on a plane, and now you're back in your home country, the place suddenly feeling new as you step down from the plane.

Must be the effect of having been gone for too long.

Looking around once you reach the waiting area, you finally see a man looking like a bodyguard holding a cardboard sign with your name on it, and you approach him, noting the black van beside him. Chan had told you about someone picking you up in a black van, and one quick look at the plate number made you sure it was the right one. You then turn to the man with a smile on your face. "Hello, I'm Jeon Y/N. I'm the producer called to work on Yang Jeongin's debut album?"

The man looks at you, scanning you from head to toe, then he nods and turns to the van, opening it and gesturing for you to come inside. "Come in. We'll just have to pick up an artist at a studio nearby before we head back to the company," he says, and you nod in response, soon getting in and bringing your suitcase inside with you while the rest of your bags are stacked in the back.
