Ch. 52: Let's Talk "Man-to-Man"

Ding!

A message is received. Received by you, that is. And since you weren't really expecting to receive a message from anyone, you were quite confused as you pulled your phone from your pocket while you were busy finishing up work for the day with Jisung in his studio. No sooner than you turned your phone on, however, did you suddenly go into a slight panic mode.

"Agh!" you shout in surprise as soon as you see the name of the person that had sent you a message, eventually dropping your phone and causing Jisung to quickly turn to you with concern.

"What? What's wrong?" he asks as he stands up.

You quickly shake your hand in denial as a response while picking your phone up with the other. "I-it's nothing! It's just..." You turn your phone on again, and as soon as you see that name again, an exasperated hiss-slash-sigh leaves your mouth as you turn it away from your view. "Ah... it's Wooseok's dad."

"Hmm?" Jisung's brows rise in attentiveness, then a look of realization follows. "Oh... Oh, wait. Wooseok's father? Wait, just who exactly... is he?"

"I have a cousin," you continue to explain, then you sigh before you start packing up your things for the day. "He was out on a business trip and he asked me to watch Wooseok for him while he did that, but he heard about the rumors, and I guess he heard about Wooseok's kidnapping, too..." You cringe as you end your sentence meanwhile you keep your last belongings in your bag before sighing again.

Meanwhile, Jisung continues watching you, still partially unaware of the severity of the situation.

"He's coming home sooner than expected because of that," you then continue. "Even worse, he's already back here in Korea! And he only texted me once he's already on his way to the company. Aish! I have to meet with him before he gets here and makes a scene! I swear he can be so dramatic sometimes!" You finish packing your things, and as soon as you do, Jisung's eyes are wide as he follows you out of the room.

"W-wait! So you're leaving already! Wooseok, too?!" he asks as he follows you, and you nod vigorously in response. "Wait, but does Wooseok know this?"

"Heck, no! Like I said, that punk just suddenly decided to come back all of a sudden without texting me. But then again, I may or may not be in trouble as well, though, so I really need to hurry and pick Wooseok up already."

Eventually, the both of you reach the practice room where Wooseok would be with Juyeon, and as you open the door, you're suddenly met with the image of Hyunjin and Juyeon... arguing over Wooseok on who's a better child companion.

Immediately, the sight stops you from hurrying, and an unimpressed expression forms on your face as you watch the couple arguing yet again.

"Yah! What have you ever done to make the kid enjoy himself?!" Juyeon retorts to Hyunjin before turning to Wooseok who sits in between the two, his gaze travelling from one to the other as they argue. "Wooseok-ah~ We had lots of fun together, didn't we?" she asks the boy with a sweet tone, contrary to the tone she used on Hyunjin.

Meanwhile, Hyunjin just looks at Juyeon in disbelief before folding his arms and retorting himself. "Excuse me, but I am a man! I'd understand Wooseok more because we're both from the same team, aren't we, Wooseok?" He looks towards the child who glances towards him hesitantly before looking away.

Meanwhile, you just let out a sigh of defeat while looking at the couple hopelessly. Imagine what they would be like once they get married, am I right?

Eventually, Wooseok spots you, and upon doing so, his face lights up before he runs to you, completely ignoring the two adults that have been arguing over him. "Auntie!" he shouts with a cheeful voice as he runs towards you, and you smile as you receive him. At the same time, Hyunjin and Juyeon both quickly turn to the kid when he starts running before they turn to you.
