Ch. 53: Wedding Disasters

A month passed by, and eventually, the wedding of two of your closest friends had arrived.

Denise and Yunho were finally tying the knot.

And since you're the Maid of Honor, you, of course, were with Denise before the wedding. Though, it was actually more like it was mostly just you, helping her with her wedding jitters.

Denise had already changed into her gown, her hair styled and her make-up all done, and now all she had to wait for was the time to head to the venue. And despite not wanting to mess up all the preparations (her make-up specifically), she just really wanted to break down and cry at the moment.

"Y/N~," Denise whines as she approaches you, quickly getting into your embrace in an attempt to calm herself down. You, on the other hand, didn't really know what to do since this is your first time seeing your best friend this nervous. You did okay, though, just by carressing her hair and her back while she was in your embrace. "Y/N, I don't think I can do this," she then says as she pulls away from you, and you can see how hard she's trying to keep herself from crying just so she wouldn't mess up her make-up.

"What do you mean? Of course, you can do this," you reassure her. You had also already changed and been prepared for everything, your bridesmaid gown being a pretty pink, but I guess that's not really the focus right now.

Denise just whines even louder, or rather tearlessly cries as she moves away from you and plops down on a long sofa in the room. "You don't understand, Y/N! This is... It's just so much of a difference! This isn't even like that one class designation exam we had back in high school at all! It's just too overwhelming!" You then notice her starting to actually tear up, and your eyes widen before you quickly get the tissue box and give it to her.

"Here. Use this," you tell her, and Denise follows, wiping away her tears and blowing her nose. You then sit beside her while rubbing her back to comfort her. "Oh, come on, Denise. What are you crying about? Everything's going fine. Your dress looks amazing, the stylists did a good job. In fact, you look amazing, yourself! What's there to be nervous about?"

Denise blows her nose, trying to be very careful while doing so before she wipes her eyes. "Ugh! It's just... What if I make a mistake? What if I trip? Or I accidentally say 'I don't'? Not to mention, what if Yunho says that all of a sudden before running away?!" She almost breaks down again, but you quickly grab her shoulder and make her face you.

"Hey, now wait a minute," you tell her, making her look at you before you continue. She does so, but she still looks rather forlorn. "Relax. You'll do fine. And don't worry about Yunho. I swear, if he ever changes his mind and runs away, I'm gonna find him, drag him all the way to the altar, then make him marry you for goodness' sake because why wouldn't he?!" you almost yell your last sentence out of annoyance at the thought, and Denise ends up laughing at your words and expression. You then smile back at her once you notice that she had calmed down a bit. "See nothing to worry about."

Denise smiles at you then nods. But, in the next second, however... the wedding planner suddenly enters the room.

"Ma'am, we have bad news," the planner says, and both you and Denise look up at her with surprised and restless faces. "... the Best Man can't come. He says he's busy."

And that is what sends Denise off the edge, causing her to actually cry amd finally actually ruin her make-up.

Well, props to Youngmin 'cause he's actually the Best Man for this wedding. And now that he decided to bail out in the last second... well...
