Ch. 30: I Like YOU

Thankfully, you were able to arrive at the local library at around 4:45 thanks to Minho's help, and after dropping you off, he eventually headed home and you walked inside after you both bid each other goodbye.

To your surprise, Changbin is already in the library, and you were even more surprised to see him already studying on his own. He must really want to get into the Music Club, you think to yourself as you approach him, him barely noticing you as he was too focused on what he's reading.

Still being completely anxious of your appearance giving off the fact that you just cried, you quickly try to fix your uniform and hair and you even look into your phone's screen just to make yourself as presentable as you usually are. Once you're finished, you approach the boy studying alone at the table.

Meanwhile, Changbin is struggling as he studies as the subject he's studying just so happened to be the one he used to hate the most: Math.

Well, used to.

I'm sure you can guess why that's the case. This boy still remembers that night he started having feelings for you, and he even remembered the subject you tutored him in that night. Now why is he starting with the subject he hates the most even before you arrived, you ask? Well...

Changbin almost jumps when he looks up and suddenly sees you standing right next to him. And in the next second, his eyes widen before he suddenly feels his heart racing at the sight of you.

Did I mention this is the first time he's seen you today?

"Y-Y/N! Y-you're here? You're early. A-and you look pretty. I mean! You've always been pretty, though! B-but, I guess... you didn't... really... need to hear that, though..." Changbin's flustered state quickly turns into an embarrassed and awkward one as he looks away from you, bringing his hand to the back of his head as he feels his cheeks heating up. "Gosh, I'm so stupid."

You aren't bothered by what he said, though. In fact, a smile quickly creeps up onto your face as you look at the embarrassed boy seated infront of you. Changbin's the only person to ever actually compliment you on your looks today. No buts. "No, it's okay," you say, still smiling, and Changbin glances up towards you to have his eyes widening again at the sight of your smile. "I did need to hear something to lift my mood... Thanks."

"Yeah... N-no problem," he stutters yet again as he looks away from you. He'd have looked for a much longer time, but the awkwardness was killing him already, he had to do something.

"By the way," you then say as you walk over to him and pull out the seat beside his, looking at the books and notes spread open on the desk. "You look like you're doing really good. I wouldn't be surprised if you suddenly get to my class by the end of this semester." A light chuckle escapes you, your eyes closing in the process. Once you open them, however, you suddenly see Changbin staring at you, looking as if he's lost in his thoughts, and a smile forms on your face before you look at him teasingly. "Changbin? Did you hear me?"

"Huh? A-ah! Yeah, of course, I did," he says. It seems it would be a while before his flustered state eventually disappears... It seems. "It's just..." he starts again as he brings his hand to the back of his neck, awkwardly looking away from you. "You're really pretty, Y/N," he says, his voice sounding unusually calm but still shy, and your eyes widen in response.

Boy, he really meant it, didn't he?

In the end, you just giggle as you finally take your seat beside him, smiling brightly as your previous bad mood disappears completely and you forget about Jisung for a moment. "Thanks. Again. I'm glad you actually think that."
