"Look at my little girl!"
A mother dressed her child in her hanfu made from yards of Liyue's finest silk, sewn together with golden thread. The little girl smiled, twirling around in delight as her mother showered her with praises. With the finishing touches added to her outfit, the mother carefully slid a headdress into the young girls soft, (H/C) locks. Cupping the girl's cheeks with her hands, the mother brushed her thumb against the plump cheeks of her daughter.
"(Y/N), 500 years of age. My does time fly." Soon taking her smaller hand in her own, the mother led her child beyond their abode. "Come now, we mustn't be late."
This was not just any special occasion, for this was the day that (Y/N) was to give her all to the god of Geo, Rex Lapis, and sign a contract with him that will seal her future as an adeptus.
Proudly marching alongside her mother, little (Y/N) gazed at the many fish that swim freely throughout the shallow waters of Mt. Aocang. Before her was the mighty Rex Lapis, and by his side, a young man that stood with his arms crossed, an expression of frustration etched into his features. Letting go of her child's hand, (Y/N)'s mother pushed her forward, motioning for her to approach the archon.
Although a tad nervous, (Y/N) slowly walked over to the god, avoiding the piercing gaze of the one who stood beside him. Close enough, Rex Lapis took the little girls hands, a bright smile upon his human face.
"(Y/N) (L/N), you vow to protect the people of Liyue and all that lies within;" holding out his hand, the god received a calligraphy brush from his apprentice, soon giving it to the young girl. "by signing this contract, you shall serve under me and fulfil your duties as an adeptus."
(Y/N) held the brush mid-air, contemplating her decision. The grumpy man beside Rex Lapis sighed, becoming impatient with the girl's hesitation. "An adeptus should never second guess their loyalty. Sign it." He spoke in a frustrated manner, frightening poor (Y/N).
"Sign it, please, (Y/N)." Her mother encouraged her.
"Sign it, girl."
"Sign it."
Sign... It.
"I think you've done enough signing for today, sweetie."
Jumping from the sudden voice of Lisa, you awoke from your daydreaming. "O-Oh, Lisa! Have I finished already?" You nervously chuckled, scratching the back of your head as you hoped you weren't thinking out loud. Letting out a small giggle, the librarian took her eyes off you and onto the papers you had sorted. "(Y/N), dear, do you know how to write in our language?"
You were caught. Before fleeing Inazuma, you had studied the language that the outside world spoke, not bothering to polish up on your writing skills as you thought only speaking and reading was necessary. "My writing may be awful, but I am well versed in the verbal and visual skills." You quickly made an excuse, hoping this wouldn't be the untimely end of your job.
