Awakening on a comfortable, plush mattress, you took in my surroundings. The room which you occupy wasn't as intricately decorated as you thought it would be. Wispy curtains hung from the top of the windows, allowing for the pristine snow to be seen covering the land below.
'Snow?'
That didn't seem right, the last time you left Monstadt it was only spring. You brushed the concern off, thinking you were delirious due to your fluctuating stress levels from the past few days. Now that you thought about it, what had you really agreed to do for that auburn-haired harbinger and his intimidating boss?
Pushing yourself out from the comfort of the flannel sheets, you placed your feet upon the ground, instantly pulling them back up as they made contact with the below-freezing floor. Eventually, you managed to deal with the icy-cold ground and made your way to the window. You were right, it was snow. As clear as pure-white satin and as clumpy as cotton.
Not bothered to try and find out where in Teyvat you were, you decided to check on the wound that invaded your abdomen. Not so surprisingly, the wound seemed to be healing well. There was no longer any sign of infection or gangrene insight. You let out a sigh of pure relief, although you wondered, why would the Fatui cause such a ruckus only for you to join their ranks? The thought puzzled you to the very core, and you were desperate to find out.
A faint knock was heard beyond the door, releasing you from your quizzical state of mind. Reaching for the handle, you opened the door to reveal the irksome harbinger, waving his hand in front of your face.
"Good morning, (Y/N)! I hope you had sufficient rest." Childe greeted, a smile stretched upon his face so much so there were dimples. You found them... cute.
"Quite so. If I may ask, what do you need?" You queried, supposing Childe was only here to collect something from you.
"A lot actually!" He chuckled, stopping himself when he noticed your unamused expression. "I, uh, need you to get changed into this and meet me in the drawing-room."
Passing over a mask and a large coat, the harbinger made sure that you grasped them firmly before letting go. You only looked at him curiously. "Wait, where is—"
"See ya! I'm sure you don't want me here when you're getting changed. Unless....?"
Your face turned red either because of the cold weather or Childe's comment. Either way, you quickly pushed him out of the room, not wanting him to see you so flustered. "Out!"
Childe only laughed, relishing the fact that his saying had gotten beneath your skin. "I'm going! Be ready in ten, okay!?" He yelled, making sure you heard from the other side of the thick wooden door.
