You found yourself walking through the gates of Monstadt once again, this time not grocery shopping. Believing that you were soon to be broke, you decided to search for a job.
The click of your sandals against the cobblestone walkway rung throughout your ears, melting in with the atmospheric chatter of the citizens that were either buying or selling goods throughout Monstadt. There seemed to be many open places for a job albeit, you didn't fancy the life of a saleswoman. Trotting along the path with your head in the clouds, you failed to notice a flustered lady rush towards you. The lady was too occupied hurriedly glancing through a large stack of documents before she had seen you. Still, it was a little too late.
"Excuse me!" She yelled, trying to alert you.
Your attention to your thoughts had been adverted, just in the nick of time for you to hastily lept over the woman to avoid colliding with her. Although you had landed safely on your two feet, the lady that was in quite a hurry accidentally let go of her documents as they now were sprawled all over the concrete, some fluttering away with the wind.
"My apologies!" You rushed over to the woman who seemed quite discombobulated. "I should've really been more aware, I'm terribly sorry!" You apologised, trying to grab as many sheets of the fickle paper that you could get your hands on.
"O-Oh, no! I s-should be the one apologising," The woman spoke, hastily gathering the documents she once held in a neat stack. "I was in such a rush that I had no clue as to where I was heading!" She explained, exasperated from all of the action. Once all of her papers had been gathered, the lady stood up straight to introduce herself. "I am Noelle, maid of the Knights of Favonius!"
"A pleasure, Noelle." You bowed in respect, the maid's dishevelled state worrying you. "Do you acquire any help?"
The maid smiled as she fixed her headdress, making sure no stray hairs were sticking up from her head of lavender locks. "There is no need! I think I..." Glancing at the papers she held, Noelle's cheery smile turned into a sad frown. "Well, I have many duties back at headquarters and they need to be completed before sundown." She sighed, the expression of overexertion written upon her features. "Hopefully—"
"I don't mind delivering those papers of yours, Noelle." You offered, interrupting her sulking. Noelle's glum demeanour took a full 180 as she held your hand.
"I-I don't want to burden you!"
A small giggle escaped your lips, amused at the modest yet tempestuous ways of the overworked maid. "I'm certain that it will be no burden. I was searching for a job before I ran into you." You explained, Noelle's features lighting up as she now could complete her maidly duties.
"Thank you, thank you! Here," Passing the documents over to you, Noelle brought her face closer to yours, whispering in your ear of where they were to be delivered. You nodded, understanding that these papers seemed to be quite important. Before you could take off, Noelle halted your steps by grabbing your hand. "I'll make sure that you receive a job, (Y/N)!"
Gazing into the eyes of Noelle, you could see the compassion that danced within them. She was not telling any fibs behind that kind smile of hers. "Thank you!" You bowed in gratitude, waving to the kind maid as she ran off into the bustling city square of Monstadt.
Clutching the papers closer to your chest, you took off into the distance to deliver the papers. To be perfectly honest, you had no clue as to where you were going and decided that this would be a good opportunity to explore more of Monstadt.

Pit...
Pat...
Pit...
The echo of bare feet slapping against the cobblestone ground rebounded from the walls of the city houses alas, it was not loud enough to wake the sleeping residents of Inazuma. Although she ran as fast as her legs could take her, it was all in vain. Behind the young woman was the clattering of samurai armour, clanking as they chased the girl through the alleyways and open streets.
"Get back here, girl!"
"Stop running, it's useless!"
Bellowing at the young woman to stop and bring an end to this wild goose chase, the soldiers were growing exasperated every second they ran after her. Avoiding their insults, the girl ran over all kinds of obstacles that she hoped would slow down the Shogunate, not daring to bat an eye to those who pursued her.
Although all her efforts to escape from the Shogun's samurai were greatly executed, there were too many of them for only a petite teenager to take on. Not lifting her foot at the right time, she fell, tumbling across the cold, hard stone beneath her. She was surrounded as the men finally caught up, flooding into the area still on high alert as they pointed their polearms in her direction. Rubbing her back to assuage the pain that her fall had caused, the young woman let her tears freely slide down her face, dripping onto the dusty ground like rain that fell onto a glass pane.
"The Shogun won't get away with this! That is inhumane!" She yelled, her voice fractured as she sobbed. The samurai did not care that she had fallen, nor for her excuses that she spat at them to let her go.
Grabbed by the arms, the girl was hoisted upon the shoulder of one of the men. Her screams and protest were not enough. Her screams and protest were not enough to win back her freedom.
Dragged back to the Shogun's grand palace, the two samurai that held a vulture-like grip on her shoulders that was soon released once she was tossed onto the tatami mats as if she were some kind of rag doll. Before her, sat the Raiden Shogun, observing the teenager as she regained strength and locked eyes with her. She looked to be filled with despair and hatred, anger and frustration clearly burning within her (E/C) orbs.
"You..." The girl spoke, her words laced with antipathy. "You are no less than a murderer, almighty Shogun." She spat, causing the samurai behind her to stiffen in anxiousness as she insulted their great leader.
The Raiden Shogun expressed no such feelings of disgust, her features not even changing the slightest as she approached the girl. Lifting the girl's chin with her dainty fingers, the Shogun glared, her rich purple eyes void of any emotion, replicating the lethal lake of a purple substance that lay at the foot of the Narukami mountain.
"Mizuki Otsuko has committed a great crime against eternity, and so, she shall be punished accordingly." The Shogun spoke, pushing the girls head away roughly. "I believe it to be quite fair."
Tears trailed down the young lady's face as she tried to predict what the Shogun would do to her guardian once she had her within her grasp. She knew that the Raiden Shogun would hold no mercy to those who went against her ideals, thus tossing them away once they had finally broken and given up their ambition. Bored of the girl's cries of resistance, the Shogun ordered the samurai under her command to take her away. The young girl with the ears of a bunny was left distraught, wondering what exactly Mizuki did to receive this kind of punishment.
All that she knew now was that she was no longer fond of the almighty Raiden Shogun of Inazuma.
