"Care to tell me what happened?" The bartender with fire-red hair asked as he poured you a glass of water. You groaned, letting your heavy head fall onto the surface of the bar's bench.
"Later, I promise." You sighed, believing that your words would only come out as a jumbled mess if you told Diluc. With everything that had occurred now only half an hour ago, your brain didn't feel like processing.
Taking the glass of water, you let the refreshing liquid quell your throat which was scratchy and parched from your weeping. Tear stains still lingered on your cheeks and your eyes red; overall, you were a mess. Even though Mizuki always told you not to cry in front of men, you couldn't help the guilt that made your lip quiver and eyes fill with pools of water. Thankfully, Diluc didn't care one bit about your completion.
Diluc, Venti, Razor, Bennett, and Lisa. Few of the people that made you feel at home, and gave you a home away from your real home. And now you had to go, for only the Archon's know how long. You didn't want to leave, albeit, being in Monstadt has already caused extensive damage already. It was time. Time to go.
"Diluc, I need to—"
Before you could inform Diluc of your plan, the tavern door swung open and slammed closed, the brute force making you jump in surprise as it shut with a bang. Turning your head around, you found someone that could make your day seem like lollipops and rainbows.
Diluc eyed the newcomer with suspicion once he saw your distraught expression. He watched your unsteady hand lurch to take hold of the bladed fan that lay dormant by your side and instantly knew that he would be paying damage fees once again.
The sturdy man dressed in shredded purple samurai attire seated himself next to you, his kasa blocking all view of his eyes. Yet, you didn't need to see his eyes to know that he was not good news.
"What would you like?" Diluc asked, his duty as a bartender still remaining. The ronin didn't answer for a second, waiting as if to add more nerves to your already quaking composure.
"I'll take a wine." He requested, blatantly.
Turning his head to you, you shuddered under his concealed gaze. 'Now is not the time, (Y/N)!'
"Hm," The wanderer grumbled, taking his time to inspect you from head to toe. "You know, you remind me of certain kamuro... she had those same ears, just like you."
"I don't believe I know of someone bearing the same features, you must be mistaken." You lied, awfully. It was the best that you could do given the current circumstances.
Diluc still eyed the foreigner as he poured the wine, watching his every movement like a hawk and waiting for the moment the ronin made his move. Diluc didn't want to lose you, not yet. In the weeks that you had known him, the more you had started to grow on him to the point that he would do whatever to make sure you were safe from the stranger beside you.
