"Must I carry him home?" You deeply sighed, cupping your pounding forehead as a headache came and went as it pleased.

Diluc could only look at you with sorry eyes as he cleaned the remnants of tonight's 'celebratory drinking fest'. It was nearly midnight and you may have had more than just a glass of wine whilst chatting with the bartender. "I regret drinking that much..." You let out a groan. "Please stop me next time, Diluc."

Standing, you wobbled over to the sleeping duo that accompanied you, pressing a hand onto Venti's shoulder. "Venti, it's time to go now."

The bard's only response was jumbled words that made no such sense. 'The hard way it is then.'

Grabbing Venti's arm, you hoisted him onto your back, trying not to lose balance as he snuggled himself into your clothes. Finding a stable point, you thanked Diluc for the conversation and the beverages, to which he only hummed in reply. "You can leave that frosty bastard here, I'll deal with him." Diluc huffed, obviously quite annoyed with the state that Kaeya was in, again.

As you bid farewell to Diluc and left the Angel's Share tavern, you made the sleeping bard on your back your new responsibility, also hoping that your journey home would be a short one. The moon was full, as luminous as always with its starry companions that glimmered in the night sky. You couldn't help but gaze and bask in the moon's glory as you walked home; oddly enough, you liked its company, sharing your thoughts and grievances with the gargantuan white orb as if it were a close friend.

"The moon's beauty—" Venti spoke, frightening you with a loud and abrupt hiccup. "pales in comparison to yours, little bun."

You now knew Venti was at his most drunken point, the point being when he would become lamentable and share his never-ending stories and songs, as well as his flirts. There was only one way you could get through the night without provoking him, and that was to listen and try not to become a flustered mess.

"Thank you, Barbatos." You thanked the bard, bluntly.

"I... really do mean it, (Y/N)." The bard said, his words slurred and barely audible to the human ear. Alas, you heard everything.

How else were you supposed to act? Stern and rigid? No, it was impossible to ignore the fluttering feeling within your stomach every time Venti spoke to you in such a way. Spotting your cottage in the distance, you persevered, determined to get the flirtatious bard off your back, literally and metaphorically.

"We're nearly home, Barbatos. Sleep." You offered, more so commanded Venti to shut up and get some rest. "Can I sleep with you tonight? The floor hurts my back." Complained Venti. You nearly choked on your saliva when hearing those words. The earful that you would've gotten if Mizuki was still alive; you could almost imagine her lecturing you from the heavens.
