"You must be joking; there is no way Venti would give up his gnosis like that!" Was what you had said before bolting back to your small room at the Northland bank that you and Childe occupied, as well as after learning the leader of the Fatui had, without much effort, beat the anemo archon and stole his very essence of great power. You knew Venti's gnosis was stolen, albeit not precisely how, that was until Aether spilt the beans.

To be labelled as fuming was an understatement as you were afire with vehement towards Signora, who thought she was entitled to waltz in and snatch what she desired.

Slamming the door shut on your way into the room, you raced to search for a quill and ink and some paper that had to be missing when you most needed it. Swiping items and trinkets off the desk to allow for space, you seated yourself on the cushioned chair, too occupied to make yourself comfortable. Taking the quill in hand, you dipped the tip into the pool of ink and dragged it out, wasting no time to start writing. Anyone with you could safely assume that the paper would spontaneously combust as you were writing as if on a tangent.

Venti,

I have recently been informed of the incident that occurred whilst I was absent from Monstadt. Is your gnosis truly gone? If that happens to be the truth, then I am disappointed so—

You were struggling to jot down how you felt, yet it all came out wrong. You didn't want to seem overbearing or too discontented. Pulling on your long ear to try and ignite the lightbulb within your head, you still could only think of one thing to say: you missed him. Scratching out the last statements, you continued onwards.

I hope this letter finds you well, and no need to concern yourself as I am fine. Have you recovered from your injury? You have not strained yourself beyond your limit, have you? I also must warn you that you best not be intoxicated when I see you again. I... wish to see you again soon.

Please send Diluc my regards, as well as Kaeya and the others.

Sincerely,
(Y/N)

Folding the paper and using a lit candle to melt a stick of red wax, you watched as the once-solid wax became a gooey substance, creating a puddle on top of the paper. You took the stamp from across the desk, imprinting the wax with an ornate ginkgo design. With a smile stretching across your face, you picked the letter up and made a beeline for the door, opening the mahogany slab only for a frown to take your smile's place as someone blocked your way.

"And what exactly are you doing?" Childe stalked over you despite your height, inching closer every time you took an anxious step back.

"I could ask you the same thing, Ajax." Your features scrunched as you stiffened your stance, reminding yourself not to be a doormat again.
