As the sun peaked through the windows of the small cottage, your eyes slowly fluttered open, adjusting to the return of light. Sitting up, you could faintly hear the soft snores of your archon friend whose head lay upon your lap. Brushing the strands of Venti's navy hair, the feeling and the sight was reminiscent of your childhood when he would style your unkempt hair.

You presumed it to be close to lunchtime as the sun sat above the hills. Since nothing had been scheduled, you thought it best to return to the seamstress's shop to repair your kimono; possibly to create something new whilst you were at it.

Soon, Venti's eyelids had slowly lifted as he awoke once you had carefully adjusted his head so you could gather your necessities. Rubbing his tired eyes and yawning, his gaze followed his friend who pranced around the room, scavenging for something he did not know of.

"Good morning, (Y/N)." He greeted, trying to balance himself after he rose from the ground. As you both chatted and
remembered the old days, you and Venti had eventually fallen asleep in front of the fire. Mostly because Venti was drunk and you were fatigued.

"Good morning, Barbatos. I hope you are not too hungover." You greeted the bard, laughing as he scoffed.

"Me? Hungover? Never!" Venti chuckled, stretching out his stiff body.

As the materials were all gathered in a decently sized basket, you faced Venti who looked at you with curious eyes. "I need to pay a visit to the seamstress," you informed the bard. "there should be some left-over apples in the pantry so do help yourself."

Turning around to face the door, Venti's hand swiftly grabbed your own, catching you off guard. "Wait," Gazing into his soft eyes, you couldn't help but notice that he had become quite concerned for some reason. "please be safe, little bun."

You squeezed his hand in reassurance. "I will, Barbatos."

Releasing your hand from his grasp, you smiled at Venti before leaving the cottage. Although, Venti seemed to have some things on his mind that needed to be addressed as he halted your descent down the small wooden steps. "One last thing, (Y/N), please call me Venti outside." Moving closer to your face, he lowered his voice as if something was spying on you, trying to attain information. "Call me Barbatos when we're alone."

Giggling like the cheeky archon he was, Venti skittered on inside, leaving you with a red face and a spinning stomach. Ignoring those feelings, you woke yourself and continued down the dirt path that led to Monstadt, your body still a little warm and fuzzy.
