2021 july 12th, China

Renjun was deep in thoughts ever since he saw Hyuck storm off with angry tears glittering in his eyes. He knew how upset his best friend must be after what had happened. It was unexpected and it scares him a bit what the future would bring them.

He witnessed everything that happened, and it was like a film played in slow motion. The look on Hyuck's face, the tightly clenched jaw and fists, and the panic visible in his shaking orbs.

Renjun was pretty calm on the outside, trying to get a clear picture of what had just happened in front of him. The shock on Seol's face who was standing beside him was similar to Hyuck's.

She looked confused, lost and in disbelief of what she was seeing... Hurt... That was what he could make out as the strongest emotion, especially after watching her best friend look at them with so much hatred.

No, it was not hatred, but Seol didn't seem to realise it.

He didn't know which one of his best friends he should help first. Should he leave Hyuck some space to sort out his thoughts? Should he comfort Seol about their best friend's outbreak? Or should he mend his own messed up mind first?

Before he could make a decision, his feet had already started taking him after the angry pudu, leaving the girl there alone. He watched as Donghyuck walked away, not able to bring himself and stop the fuming male.

It was the day Seol graduated. The day she presented her thesis, the hard work of two years. It should have been a happy occasion since they finally finished college.

Even her cousin was coming to visit her from the USA, all of them celebrating together. The guys would finally meet her favourite cousin, whom she considered like a sibling, but sadly none of that has happened.

Renjun left early the next day for China, still confused about what he has seen. It was just a dream, right? Yeah. In reality, they partied so hard and got drunk to the point of passing out, and everything was a dream. That was what he kept telling himself.

No matter how many tasty dishes his grandmother would put on the table, or how delicious the cakes and sweets were, he was not able to fully enjoy them. Not even his favourite hotpot could occupy his mind enough to forget his worries. Why did it have to happen now?

It was good that all of them got some time for themselves to sort out their own thoughts, emotions, but it would have been better if they talked about it.

Hyuck was so excited about finding his soulmate, but this would be a hard blow for him.

And despite Seol looking pretty calm, he could sense some tension within her too. But what about his own feelings? How come Renjun could not think about his own wellbeing even in this situation?

He could loose one of his best friends... Heck, he could loose both of them! And why was that? Because of a small fish tattoo that decided to appear at such an unwanted time?!

But...why did it appear?
And why now?

There was obviously something he didn't know, and by something he means the secrets their female friend kept. If his theory was correct, then it might be justifiable. But if it's not the case, then he isn't sure he'd be able to look at her and trust her the way he did before...and that would lead to him loosing her...

No matter what happened, the three of them should hold together and face those problems. Together. They are a team after all. The three of them are best friends, and no tattoo can break them apart.

After getting to this conclusion, Renjun felt more fired up to get to the bottom of everything. He was determined to make sense of everything and fix the ties between his two best friends, that were seemingly only held together by a thin thread at the moment.
